The Christian Method of meditation (as taught in the Bible) is to think on
something, example "Meditate on the ant"... I would call that "thinking"

DO a lot of different kinds of meditation
OBSERVE others doing them too, and
COMPARE the results obtained.

Having done exactly that over the past 35 years, your technique still
appears to be "thinking" as the word is commonly defined.

A session of asking yourself. Who's asking? Who's answering?

No.

Learn to read!
You will appear
more intelligent.

Not meditation.

That's your ignorant, arrogant, irrelevant opinion.

One way I have of estimating whether a technique works, is to look at the
"fruit" of the technique - that is, how does it manifest in the person who
practices it. Dismissing someone's opinion as "...ignorant, arrogant,
[and] irrelevant..." suggests that in fact your method does not lead where
I would like to go.

It has been my long experience that one who must resort to insult rarely
(if ever) has something to offer me.

Who are you kidding?

No one.

Why do you THINK I am?

I cannot speak for others, but it seems that your technique does not match
any description of meditation I have ever encountered. It *does* match
the definitions I know of for "thinking", which appears to be what you are
advocating, even if you call it by a fancy name.

I have studied meditative techniques in every religion, faith, or
philosophy I could, and I have practiced Sufi, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian,
and Jewish meditative techniques. What you are describing isn't remotely
like meditation. It is rational thinking.

Rational thinking has, in my opinion, gotten a bad reputation in recent
decades, as an overcompensation for it excessive use in many faiths. It
is a vital tool that ought not be discarded casually. Nevertheless, it
is not meditation.

Why do you (K.P) x-post this crap to eight
groups?

I post for those for those seeking to
actually enhance their awareness,
not those desperately parading
their arrogant unawareness.

Merely asserting that someone is ignorant, does not make him ignorant. It
does, however, weaken your position. When a person resorts to abusive
arguments, it suggests that he has no better argument to offer.

In fact, this argument is based on opinion, and not objective facts. Each
person has a different response to meditation (or thinking), and what
works for one person may be wholly inappropriate to someone else. Bhagavad
Gita lists 18 distinct "yogas", suitable for different temperaments.
Those who prefer meditation can use rajayoga; thinkers can use jnyanayoga;
active people can use karmayoga; and so on. One size does not fit all.

One very common trait among almost all faiths, is the unreasonable belief
that *this* one is the ONE TRUE WAY (whichever one a person follows).

I like this description!

You're not a meditation teacher if you do.

That's your opinion,
for what it's worth!

Yes, indeed. That's what we present here - our opinions, sometimes based
on our experiences and observations, but not universal truth.

No, if you don't think about what is being said, it will serve no purpose...
