Doesn't say much for their intelligence levels, if they
know
that
the
marriage license is not valid and they still pay that
much
money.
Can't you figure out that they are making a point and
$150
is
a
small
price
to pay? Now, for all of those rednecks that voluntarily
turn
over
their
money for the daily number, I have no answer.
Where is the outrage? A few months ago liberals were
screaming
over a
judge
placing the 10 commandments in public view.
If a similarly-sized monument were installed for each of
the
1000s
of
religions, where would we put the judge?
They are so quiet with this liberal mayor violating the
law.
Actually they are not violating the law.
Most likely they are
giving piece of paper with no legal value. The court will
determine if the paper has value.
Meanwhile, while they hand it out people are giving the city
money
for
something that is worthless.
You expect outrage from people over violation of a law
they
consider
unconstitutional? Someone must challenge the law for it
to
be
struck
down,
no?
So it is ok for someone to violate a law you don't like.
But it isn't ok for that judge to stand up for what he
believed
in.
That is a double standard
Yes, judges are held to a different standard.
I don't think that is the case at all.
I think what it is, is people are held to different standards
based
on
the
issue.
In their official
capacity they are expected to uphold and follow all
appropriate
laws and rulings.
Mayors don't have any obligation to law and orders?
Do you really want to advocate anarchy in order
to get a graven image in the court house?
I saw absolutely nothing wrong with something that has 10
basic
laws
that
everyone should obey
Ah. You think nothing of requiring everyone to worship the
Xtian
god?
It isn't I that requires that.
And it isn't just Christians who should respect Gods laws.
So, you seriously think that non-Xtians should be compelled to
worship
the Xtian god? First law on the list, as I recall.
You think nothing of making laws that would trample religious
freedom?
Problem is, you are not thinking.
I'm asking you why you think that laws requiring worship of the
Xtian
god should be forced on non-Xtians, Bobby.
Gods law comes above everything else. Period.
Sorry, but the U.S. is not a theocracy. If you would feel more
comfortable
in a theocracy, I suggest one of the many highly sought after homes in
one
of the Muslim countris. Your type will love it there.
Sorry you have to be like that.
He's just being truthful.
If America becomes a land where god's laws reaign above all other laws,
then
America would be no different from Saudi Arabia or Iran, except in the
religion that reaigns.
Would you like to live in Saudi Arabia or Iran? No? Why? Because their
religions are not yours. Well, if America followed YOUR religion, everyone
in America who did NOT follow your religion would feel exactly as if they
were living in Saudi Arabia or Iran. (And MOST people in the US, though
Christian, do not folow the tenets of your particular sect of
Christianity.)
So by saying that America law should follow the laws of YOUR particular
sect
and no other, you are being supremely selfish.

Peacenik
The sad fact is that if the U.S. were to ever become a theocracy, the
theocrats would most certainly leap at each other's throats in an effort to
become the dominate theists. The war would never end.
