Every Christian should be able to answer the question why they believe.
I beg to differ. To believe God exists is one thing, it merely requires
credulity, if that, i.e. when looking at an ancient god in a museum. But to
believe IN God is quite another, for that entails not only belief, but also
trust, love and faith. Then it's like answering the question: Why do you
love ... your parents? Wife? Child? Etc. There is no answer to why one loves
any of those, including God. For all answers to the question why one loves
are utilitatian and/or opportunistic, as if removing any of those reasons
would extinguish one's love.
Love goes far beyond any reasoning. See below
