Re: Intelligent design
Intelligent design.
This is a new idea for believers to use in place of creation by a god.
Hello,
True believers always had them combined, by stating that an
intelligent being, God, designed and created all living things. (Ge
1:1)
Personally I find it difficult to imagine why they would do this when
the World and the Universe are both so fragmented and unfinished.
And why did he have to make all us animals eat each other in order to
survive. Then there are all the fish in the seas, from plankton though
to sharks, total predation. Is he/it a sadist or what?
Who says that God originally designed any life forms to be
carnivorous? Genesis does speak of animals in the beginning as all
being vegetarians. Here is the proof. Ge 1:30,
"And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and
all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the
breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was
so. "
After the fall of Adam and Eve, many things changed, including the
eating habits of some animals etc. The Bible does not say why this
occurred, but it is clear that God's original purpose was to have
animals eat vegetation, not each other. There are also prophecies in
the Bible hinting that such will once again be the case once God's
kingdom arrive in full force. (see Isa 11:7; Mt 6:9)
Let's take the World first, so many ways to kill people.
We have earthquakes because the continents are still moving.
We have volcanoes because it hasn't stopped boiling inside.
Then there are great winds trying to blow people off it, hurricanes
tornados and lots of other gusty gales trying their hardest to hurt folk.
Let there be rain to drink, except where there are deserts where millions
of men women and children can die without any. Can't this god just put
himself out a little bit and share it around properly. Floods cause lots
of reasons for people to die; deep water over their heads, rivers that rush
down and take out their homes, saturated hills that come down and flush
folk away. Hardly a reasoned way to treat his followers is it?
Who says that God has caused these things to occur? The Bible does
not. But the Bible does say that random events can and do happen,
which would include unstable weather systems. Ec 9:11,
"I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the
swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or
wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance
happen to them all." (NIV)
At any time we can be hit by a meteor, just when is in the hands of the
Gods. It wouldn't be the first time, only the next one could blow the lot
away, us and all.
According to the Bible, humans will ALWAYS be living on this earth.
Jesus referred to that group at Mt 5:5,
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." (NIV)
Yes, God created the earth for a reason; to be inhabited, esp by
humans. (Isa 45:18)
Thus genuine followers of God's word know that God will never permit
any celestial object at this time to completely wipe out all humans.
But after God takes complete charge of things, such a thing will not
ever occur at all. (see Re 21:3,4)
What kind of a mind did / does this grand designer have, morally it
stinks. What's that the book says? "Let not a sparrow fall he knows"
yet he designs birds that eat other birds and small mammals.
Most of the life on earth has to eat other life in order to survive.
What a great idea. If men had made it all what would you call them?
He must have done it for a laugh, as none of it makes sense.
See above about carnivores and God's original design.
Why don't you get to REALLY know God yourself by studying His word in
detail? (2 Ti 3:16) Then you can get away from all the misleading
information told to you by others etc, and get the real, accurate
information. This is what God wants for you. 1 Ti 2:4,
"whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an
accurate knowledge of truth." (NWT)
Sincerely, James

No matter what stupidity, ignorance, contradictions or just plain evil
one finds IN THE BIBLE - there will always be an ignorant zealot to
create/invent excuses for it.
When you start with a lie, you have to keep telling more, and bigger,
lies to support, and defend, the first one.
When you claim a fairy tale is fact - you have to keep inventing more and
more outrageous fairy tales to defend the first one.

Those are false believers.
True believers know that an intelligent being designed and created
something as mysterious and complex as a God.
I am still waiting for someone to come up with a god who is both good
and almighty - at the same time.

===>The is true.
True believers have always made up an imaginary anthropoid being,
who, in their minds, crafted the Earth out of something, or even out of
nothing. . -- L.

I used to believe that too, but now it looks not very realistic. If
there were no carnivores, then all animal corpses would be left rotten
on the ground or in the waters. That would make earth a rotten hell.
It's not very hygienic, is it?
