Re: It is preached vs it is written.............

It is preached:

No one WILL know the day and hour of the Lord's return.

It is written:

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of
the Son of man be" (Mt 24:37).

"For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the
earth forty days and forty nights; and every living
substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him"
(Gen 7:4-5).

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth
come" (Mt 24:42): "If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will
come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will
come upon thee" (Rev. 3:3).

"For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so
cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say,
Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail
upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are
not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a
thief" (1 Thes. 5:2-4).

Hello,
Just to expand on your first quote above. You mentioned this
Scripture: Mt 24:36,
"But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven,
nor the Son, but the Father alone." (NAB)
Interestingly, that verse helps to shoot holes in the Trinity theory
which says that Jesus and God are coequal. If Jesus was God, he
certainly would know when he was going to bring about that "day and
hour". But only God knew, not Jesus. Thus Jesus cannot be God.
Sincerely, James

It's a matter of your not understanding it. It confirms the trinity, for
when Jesus has been judged, He knew the day and hour without watching: "All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth" (Matt 28:18).
