Re: Jesus says burn the person who does not accept me
One should not rag on christianity too much. There is in fact a lot
more examples of senseless violence conducted by God in the old
testament (killing whole groups of people over small issues).
Hello,
Yes, God did judging on wicked humans back then, because as their
Creator, He has the right to judge them. And He will again judge
humans (all humans this time) on a day of His choosing. Ac 17:31,
"For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the
man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising
him from the dead." (NIV)
Modern christianity (not the evangelical crap) has reformed its ways
and follows a policy of moderation (after killing its way to the top).
Have you researched the Bible to be sure that you are speaking of
genuine Christianity? The Bible did predict false Christians would be
around. So a Bible-wise person is aware of that fact, before making
rash claims about "Christianity". For example, Jesus referred to such
ones by his words at Lu 6:46,
"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" (NIV)
Yes, true Christianity MUST follow Jesus words, otherwise they really
are not true Christians. And here is one thing Jesus said. Mt 5:44,
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you," (NASB)
Now apply Jesus words to those you refer to above that 'killed their
way to the top'. Were they really genuine Christians by breaking
Jesus' command here? Or were they like the ones Jesus addressed at Lu
6:46. You can decide.
It can co-exist with other moderate religions like Hinduism and passive
ones like Buddhism provided the brainwashing missionaries & evangelists
are kept out of the picture.
Yes, true Christianity can co-exist with any religion. As a matter of
fact, Jesus gave an assignment to his followers. AND WOW, WHAT AN
ASSIGNMENT!. Mt 28:19,20,
"19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you...." (NIV)
Yes, Jesus said to preach TO THE WHOLE WORLD. And not only preach to
them, but make disciples of those who listen. This includes Muslims,
Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, whomever. And during the last days, this
preaching work would be ongoing by his true servants. Jesus referred
to them at Mt 24:14,
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as
a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (NIV)
And this is being accomplished as we speak. (or email)
Sincerely, James

Amongst others, this verse was responsible for burning people
.
