Yes Jesus didn't think much of the religious leaders of his day,
because they mixed their own beliefs in with the Bible's teachings
etc. (Mt 23:13,16,33) But rather than 'saving us' from all religion,
Jesus set matters straight concerning the true religion from God.
As to the belief that all good persons go to Heaven, did you know that
Jesus told us that neither Moses nor Abraham went to Heaven? Here is
the proof. Joh 3:13,
"No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from
heaven--the Son of Man." (NIV)
The Bible says the dead (both good and bad) are 'in the ground'
awaiting a resurrection. Ac 24:15,
"and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a
resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." (NIV)
And that not all good ones will go to Heaven. Some will live on this
earth. Jesus referred to that group at Mt 5:5,
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." (NIV)
Thus, true Bible teachings may be a little different than what you
have been taught. That is why the Bible gives us the example to look
religious teachings up in the Bible, to verify them. Ac 17:11,
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians,
for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the
Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (NIV)
