Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you
seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a
fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this
world is foolishness with God. For it is written,
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And
again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise,
that they are vain. 1 Corinthians 3:18-20
Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and
become as little children, ye shall not enter into
the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall
humble himself as this little child, the same is
greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3-4
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent
beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds
should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in
Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3
Preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest
the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that
perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it
is the power of God. For it is written, I will
destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to
nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is
the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer
of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom
of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God
the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by
the foolishness of preaching to save them that
believe.
|
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek
after wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, unto
the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks
foolishness, but unto them which are called, both
Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the
wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is
wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger
than men.
|
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many
noble, are called. But God hath chosen the foolish
things of the world to confound the wise, and God
hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound
the things which are mighty, and base things of the
world, and things which are despised, hath God
chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to
nought things that are, that no flesh should glory in
his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who
of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and
sanctification, and redemption, that, according as it
is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the
Lord.
|
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with
excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you
the testimony of God. For I determined not to know
any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him
crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in
fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my
preaching was not with enticing words of man's
wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of
power, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom
of men, but in the power of God.
|
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect,
yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes
of this world, that come to nought. But we speak the
wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom,
which God ordained before the world unto our glory,
which none of the princes of this world knew, for had
they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord
of glory.
|
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear
heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love
him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his
Spirit, for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the
deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things
of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the
Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit
of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we
might know the things that are freely given to us of
God. Which things also we speak, not in the words
which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost
teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
|
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the
Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him,
neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual
judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no
man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that
he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Praise be to God who lifts up the "valleys" and throws down the
"mountains"!

I've been hearing that one since my childhood, which means over 50
years now.
And in all these years, it's never been more than a dumb "catchy"
phrase. No one has EVER been able to provide and documentation for
such an absurd remark.
And intelligent folk would have to stop and ask why on EARTH such
"gems" clutter up a group that is based on the faith of the
contributors?
This is like the UTTER INSANITY of the 1970s and 80s and 90s "Women's
Movement."
There were no men protesting to be admitted to the women's clubs, but
many women protested and went to court to be admitted to men's clubs.
?????
One now-FAMOUS example of how the courts knuckled under (wimped and
wussied out) to the Women's movement is the change a few years ago
from "The Boys' Club" (of which I was a member) to the "The Boys and
Girls Club".
A similar assault was made against the International Boy Scouts, who
resisted, pointing out that SOMEwhere, there must be a club that boys
could go to to model themselves after men they could trust.
The Boy Scouts remained / and remains the Boy Scouts.

I've been hearing that one since my childhood, which means over 50 years
now.
& you still do not have the reading comprehension to realise, it is true
if the person reading it is honest with themselves.
And in all these years, it's never been more than a dumb "catchy" phrase.
No one has EVER been able to provide and documentation for such an absurd
remark.
Rather, no one has been able to convince you, which is not the same thing.
But then, who would want to convince you is the question.
And intelligent folk would have to stop and ask why on EARTH such "gems"
clutter up a group that is based on the faith of the contributors?
Truth has no boundaries? Do not feed the animals pabulum? Or what is good
for the goose is good for the gander? Or least likely, to ***** you off.
This is like the UTTER INSANITY of the 1970s and 80s and 90s "Women's
Movement."
IAW you, but then IAW you, you are coherent, rational, sane[realitively],
kind, courteous, & a xian. None of which can be referenced IAW your
posting history. What your posting history does confirm is you are not
only a liar, but ignorant of your own myths fallacies.
There were no men protesting to be admitted to the women's clubs, but
many women protested and went to court to be admitted to men's clubs.
In some cases, they were correct, in others, maybe not. Now, do you have a
case where the reasons for exclusion were not based on gender? I doubt you
do. You do realise that the law of the land says equal, not equal except
for, or do you?
?????
We know you are querulous, nothing new there. People are always saying
things you don't understand, not that there is much you appear to
understand.
One now-FAMOUS example of how the courts knuckled under (wimped and
wussied out) to the Women's movement is the change a few years ago from
"The Boys' Club" (of which I was a member) to the "The Boys and Girls
Club".
Ah poor baby, there went your feeling of imp[lied superiority by way of
gender. Hint, there is no reason there should be strictly a boys or girls
club when public funds are involved.
A similar assault was made against the International Boy Scouts, who
resisted, pointing out that SOMEwhere, there must be a club that boys
could go to to model themselves after men they could trust.
& in the US, it appears they can't trust their leaders. Now why is that?
BTW, they no longer are receiving public funds or support. They are
finally being required to abide by the same rules as everyone else, or
suck it up & provide for themselves.
The Boy Scouts remained / and remains the Boy Scouts.
As do the girls scouts, & the Brownies, which still receive public support
& funding.
