Part Three Did the "Thief
on the Cross"
Enter Paradise
Immediately?

"*Today* you will be *with me* in paradise", while such does not say
"immediately" it does declare that such would be before the sunset (the next
Hebrew day) *unless* of course, Jesus *lied*

Jesus said He would be in the
grave three days and three nights
after His crucifixion. Then could
the thief have been with Christ in
Paradise that very day?

Yes ! With God *all* things are possible.

by Herman L. Hoeh NOTICE Luke 23:43 carefully. Jesus
said that the cru-
cified malefactor would be with Him in Paradise.

*Today*

If we can prove where Jesus went when He died,
then we can prove if the malefactor really went to Para-
dise that day.

As I trust Jesus, I need no 'proof'

Turn to I Corinthians 15:3-4. Paul reiterates: "For I
delivered to you" -- speaking to Christians -- "first of all
that which I also received, how that Christ died for our
sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried,
and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures."

When I died, I left my body immediately after my heart stopped beating, and
started upwards toward heaven in my 'rapture' experience.

Notice that Jesus was buried -- it does not say the
body was buried,

There was no need, the body is what is buried, the Spirit returns to God,
from where it came.

and that the soul went to Paradise.

Trust Jesus, and you will not need such words to have been said. Jesus'
promise to the theif makes it clear without unneeded words.

It reads that He -- Jesus, Himself -- was buried.

It reads "Jesus was buried" nothing more.

He was dead for three days. He died for our sins. Then He came to
life. He arose!

Either the text is talking about His body, or Jesus lied, also note, in
another text it states that during the time of His death He visited the dead
who died before He went to the cross.

John gives us further proof of where Jesus was. "Now
in the place where he was crucified there was a garden;
and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man
yet laid. There" -- in the tomb -- the grave -- "laid they
Jesus" (John 19:41-42). It was Jesus who was laid in the
tomb, not merely the body of Jesus. Jesus was dead!

If so, He *lied* to the theif.

Hmmmm.....
Once you die you are beyond time and space. Maybe just plain dead.
Or, for me and many Christians, in eternity with God. And what does
time
have to do with eternity? There may be some sort of time in heaven,
i.e.
the passage of time with events in sequence, but that isn't earth time,
nor Eastern Standard Time.
And who cares. The dead certainly don't. All you do is jump into
eternity and hope underneath are the everlasting arms to catch you.

Agreed, heaven's half an hour could last weeks :-)

I didn't 'jump', I was lefted upwards, it was out of my control, and so was
my return back into my body. When we are called from our bodies, it is
completely in God's hands, "not of works, least anyone should boast"
.
