guy: he's one of the Creator's loyal servants. Roughly

O.K. I was simplifying things but you are right, which sort of proves
the
whole story is bogus in my opinion.
Satan is second only to God in looks and brains yet if you believe
the
current bible thumpers version of
things, he is going to rally against God and do all the ***** for a
thousand
years in an attempt defeat God, yet if he is second only to God, he
knows
that no matter what he does, he is going to lose. Nothing he can do
can
change the fact that Christ will return and that he will be defeated
and
destroyed. Yet even though he is so smart and knows there is 0%
chance
that
he will win, he is going to play this game out and follow his script.
Satan is either
not smart
wants to just take as many souls as he can
or the whole premise is bogus
I'll go with the last.
Maybe he knows he has nothing to lose, so figures "what the hell"? ;-)
Actually, when Satan "fell from heaven", he fell triumphant. A
truly omnipotent god has no need to wage battles against enemies, nor
to punish them. Satan's "fall" is Yahweh's degradation and
humiliation. This is what the fundies don't understand: the scenario
of God and his viceroy Jesus fighting Armaggedon is a radically stupid
image because it portrays god as a threatened monarch who needs to
defend his territory with warfare. The real loser in "Satan's fall"
is god.
