Generally, Protestants think of tradition in opposition to Scripture,
Romans view it alongside Scripture and Orthodox view the scriptures as
part of an aggregate whole.
The Roman Catholic view is, that the Scripture is the original
revelation of God, and the Tradition is the authentic interpretation of
the Scriptures also guided by the Holy Spirit. I would interpret the
Tradition not as 'along', bur 'after, by, for, and pointing back' to the
Scriptures.
In my view (and I belive this is the oddivial Roman Catholic view too)
everything is part of the aggregate Whole.
Hello,
But God's word says all SCRIPTURE is inspired of God, not all
'tradition'. 2 Ti 3:16,
"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for
refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness." (NAB)
Tradition can easily be tampered with and no one will be the wiser.
Yes, so can the Scriptures be tampered with, but with a written record
tampering can be discovered and corrected. Not so with oral tradition.
Yes, back in the first century some tradition was accepted as from
God. But the apostles and others directly connected with Jesus were
around to verify the authenticity of such oral traditions. Today we do
not have that arrangement.
Thus, God has seen to it to preserve His written word today that can
be verified and checked as to accuracy. Thus God's servants will be
able to worship Him with the truth, not with unprovable 'traditions'.
Joh 4:23,24,
"23. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall
worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such
to worship him.
24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth." (KJV)
Sincerely, James

Pure *****. There are NO originals of the Bibles in exisetence and there
are numerous
unsubstantiated copies with different interpretations. The Bibles are books
of myths, fables,
implausible and impossible tales. NO ONE knows what the orignalsd said or
their accuracy!

Com'on James,
The Holy Spirit is also a spirit person and yet you do not claim him to
be a person. He, yes He as the gospel of John says that the
"Parakletos" is a person.
And why did you change the Bible, specifically John 1: 1 when you added
the article "a" before the word God, thus writing "a god" in small
letters. What do you mean by that?
And then you added the word "other" in Colosians 1:16. What do you mean
by that?
Traditions are way of life. They may or not be in the Bible, like the
telephones, TVs, bike, etc. But time is changing and so is the way of
living. That's tradition.
