Bush discounts Iraq war death reportFrom correspondents in Washington

US President George W. Bush dismissed as "not credible" an independent
US study which estimated that 655,000 Iraqis had died in Iraq since the
2003 US invasion.
The study estimated that one Iraqi in 40 had died as a result of the
conflict by comparing the death rates from the period before the war to
the period from March 2003 to June 2006.
The study, by researchers at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore,
Maryland, was to be published by the British journal The Lancet.

That looked pretty impressive on the BBC.
One source attributed the 600,000
estimate to MIT was that a different study?

No, same one. Funded by the MIT School of International Studies.
MIT has been the source of Department of Defense technology for as=20
