The prime quality of our Christian "God is love" (1 John 4:8,16) become
fully manifest in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Hence Christ is our God
incarnate.
Paul elaborates on the nature of love as it applies to God below.

"Charity (agape) suffereth long (the patience of God), and is kind (the
grace of God); charity (agape) envieth not (the sovereignty and immutability
of God); charity (agape) vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (God's
humility in saving us by coming in the flesh as a servant) Doth not behave
itself unseemly (the gentleness of God), seeketh not her own (the
self-sufficiency of God), is not easily provoked (the mercy of God),
thinketh no evil (God's willingness to forgive and forget sin); Rejoiceth
not in iniquity (the holiness of God), but rejoiceth in the truth (the
justice of God); Beareth all things (God takes on the sins of the world),
believeth all things, hopeth all things (even knowing many will reject His
love, He offers salvation to all), endureth all things (knowing that He
would have to endure the eternal torment and heartache of those lost to Him
forever, He chose to create the world so that He could share His love with
those who would). Charity never faileth (the Lord's love endures forever
more)"; 1 Cor 13:4-8 (KJV parentheticals added)
