"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass,
till all these things be fulfilled." - Matthew 24:34
The Last Days were in the first century:

So the judgment is over, and we are in heaven, no more death, thirst,
hunger, etc. Strange, I can't seem to find my wife, oh yeah, she died last
year. Sorry, Dave, I just don't believe you.

James 5:8-9

8) Be YE also patient; establish YOUR hearts:
for the coming of the Lord DRAWETH NIGH.
9) Grudge not one against another, brethren,
lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge
STANDETH BEFORE THE DOOR.

And your flesh will die too, my flesh will die, everyone's flesh will
die, in one hundred years, every single one of us 20 or over will have
tasted death. But here's the Good News, those who believe in Christ
will never really die, as the flesh is put off, the spirit lives
forever more. But those who do not believe in Christ are in danger of
eternal death.

Note how the futurists attempt to make fun of you,
based on what they think is supposed to happen,
as if they couldn't possibly be wrong.
They can go ahead and wait for Jesus to ride a cloud
like a cowboy if they want. And why would He literally
need a cloud anyway? Would He fall and hurt Himself
without one?

Dave, you are the one insisting on taking the scripture *literally*, as the
*center piece* of your whole argument, is that taken literally, Jesus could
*only* be talking to, and about, the generation that was physically standing
in front of Him, when He stated "This generation standing here..."
So your above argument makes you look like like both a hypocrite, and not
too bright.
And no, it doesn't take a book to explain the truth, but it does if you have
to do a lot of handwaving, and scripture twisting in order to arrive at your
"truth"
Your long posts do two things, one cause people not to even bother reading
them, and two prove that....
you have to do a lot of inventive meaning adjustments,
alter the meanings of the texts,
connect totally unconnected scriptures together,
with a lot of assertions thrown in for good measure,
and a certian amount of twisting scriptures....
The simple truth, doesn't require all that work, Dave.

till all these things be fulfilled." - Matthew 24:34

As I pointed out, the *very center piece* of your doctrine is in taking the
text strictly *literal*...
One must wonder, why you must change this rule, in order to defend it ?
Me thinks, I know why Pastor Dave kill-filed me, and has to piggy-back in
order to address my "making fun of him".
I can in a few words show the flaws in his teachings.
Truth is, I wish it was all over, my wife and I would be together, in each
other's arms :-)

Ecc.1 :9-11, right on the nose ! Well done :-)
Personally, I have seen it all fulfilled once, and am in my second go around

LOL

Two no-nothings arguing over that which they do not know.

The nature of prophecy is iteration.

Even Jesus applies the nature of prophecy to His own prophecies, saying at
least three times (as documented in John) "For the time is coming, and is
now..."

If the time is coming, it is not now, and if the time is now, it is not
coming, unless it both coming and now.

In other words, the past is only prologue, and what goes around comes
around.

The fulfillment of the Olivet Discourse in "that generation" is only a
shadow of the fulfillment yet to come.
