Did anyone think like me that the spit in Jane Fonda's face was
contrived out of the Bush administration (Rove, of course), as an
attempt to point out who the traitors were? She took rather
extravagant steps to use her public name to disdain that war. And by
the time she did that, many were doing likewise what they could. The
draft of America to such a bloody yet useless battle...
Yeah, after the Flower Children caused us to pull out before WINNING it did
*become* "bloody yet useless" didn't it ??
Hope the US is smarter now, and more considerate to the present war dead,
that they have the *guts* to make sure they don't *also* become people who
*died for nothing* !!!

(This was a really old post, Glenn.)
That 'rebellion' inspired by the forced draft into that murderous
jungle. ***** all those who support it. Viet Nam was insane. The
government abused its children into that insanity. Again, damn them.
The Vietnam War was nonsense in a jungle. None of our business.
Partially driven by the failure in Korea, (also none of our business),
and likely responsible for the mess in N.Korea now. Guaranteed, if we
had lost Korea, or never was there in the first place, everyone would
be better off.
Hope the US is smarter now, and more considerate to the present war dead,

You live in a fantasy world. Do you see Iran arming itself with
nukes? They probably would anyway, as a response to Israel. But now
they're doing it in our faces, and planning to share them, in our
faces. Our only _substantive_ response (which we cannot do) is
another war. That's the Middle East, you idiot! As in 'Nam, we are
not liberating the French, or someone else with stable substance.
