Insert: Justified the tortures and deaths of the saints and martyrs, as
just
following God's commands
I apologize for justifying the tortures and deaths of the saints and
martyrs as
just following God's commands.
You just seem to keep popping up in whatever NG I am posting in...
You just the other day told me I apologise for not changing in any kind of
way, or similar words.
Are you changed now?
Are you now admitting that "it was prime example of Catholic error" to
torture and kill those who followed the dictates of their own conscience,
and wish to apologise for that, as you refused to before?
You now understand that using OT scripture to justify killing Non-Catholics
was wrong and is why Jesus rebuked the disciples?
Luk 9
54And when his disciples James and John saw [this], they said, Lord, wilt
thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even
as Elias did?
55But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of
spirit ye are of.
Do you now understand that the following scripture under the New Covenant
applies to a Church that goes around persecuting and wiping out her
neighbors?
Jhn 16
2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that
whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
3And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the
Father, nor me.

You have brought up your Popes apology while
ignoring, and not addressing, or correcting your own statement about
that, which proves you didn't even superficially go along with your
Pope:
**For not answering "I think the burning of heretics was a prime
example of Catholic error" I will never apologize.**
The Pope apologized on behalf of the Catholic Church for the burning
of heretics. I never burned a heretic. I refused to say "I think the
burning of heretics was a prime example of Catholic error".
In one such apology he referred to the scripture about antichrist and
the man of sin:
'In a historic "mea culpa" after arriving in Athens, John Paul II asked
God to forgive Catholics for sins committed against Orthodox Christians
during their 1,000-year separation..."How can we fail to see here the
'mysterium iniquitatis' at work in the human heart?".. 'JP2 ATHENS, Greece,
MAY 4,
2001
Since you tell us it was "Necessary" and " just business" and "merely
carrying out God's command" to burn heretics,and not an Catholic error;
and you refuse to apologise, and Rome never changes according to you
all, As you amply demonstrate,WHY WAS YOUR POPE APOLOGISING ???
For that refusal, I will never apologize,
because as I've indicated in the past, there are old testament
scriptures and cultural circumstances in the middle ages that made
the burning
of heretics an understandable course of action for the Church in that
time.
YOU DID NOT say it was "understandable" YOU SAID "IT WAS NECESSARY" and
referred to it as the "GOOD OLD DAYS".
Teresita:
"It [the burning of heretics]was NECESSARY to compel individuals to keep
their private opinions to
themselves, and to cease public propagation of their errors. In THE
GOOD OLD DAYS both Church and State cooperated to prevent such men from
corrupting the faith of others and from subversive activities against
the legitimately established order.
Teresita:
instance, before the first amendment came, Church and State were one,
so in the context of the times, heresy amounted to sedition.
Cindy:
YES THAT"S WHAT YOU SAID. But you did not relegate this to the past. You
also told us the job of the inquisition is the same TODAY as it was
then. And called for a return to those days:
Teresita:
"THE PURPOSE OF THE INQUISITION was then and IS TODAY to investigate
persons charged with propagating false doctrines. The purpose of the
civil authorities was then and is now to maintain law and order.
While today is a period of relative religious plurality due to the
sinfuldivision and subdivision of Christians contrary ro Christ's prayer
inJohn 17,
IN THE PAST THERE WAS NOT BUT ONE CATHOLIC CHURCH,
AND GOD WILLING IN THE FUTURE
THERE WILL BE ONE CATHOLIC CHUCH."
Cindy:
And what were these heresies that you call "sedition"?
The first heretics according to you that had to be "PUT DOWN" by Rome
were 7th day Sabbath keepers:
Teresita:
" You Sabbatistas are an example of the first HERETICS the Church had to
PUT DOWN; Judaizers"
Cindy:
Next:
Susan asked you:
How did this principle then compel you to declare that the record of
Christian Martyrs in the book Foxe's Book of Martyrs should be worded
Foxe's Book of Heretics?
And what was their "sedition"?
Teresita:
"Because the so-called "martyrs" were people like Tyndale, who held to
the doctrine of justification by faith alone, who maintained that to believe
in the forgiveness of sins and to embrace the mercy offered in the Gospel
was
enough for salvation, who denied purgatory, who affirmed that Mary and the
saints do not pray for us, and we should not pray to them."
Cindy:
So we can see you justify the murder of people who believe differently
than you and it's sedition only because they don't follow the doctrines of
Rome.
And Susan is right, since you used scripture according to your warped
interpretation to justify this, not learning from Jesus' rebuke of the
disciples when they tried to do the same thing, how can they be any
different to you now? have those scriptures changed? has your use of
them changed ???
