Which part of "supported" is it with which you apparently aren't
familiar? Ditto for "objective".

I take 'soul' as the poetic representation of a living, breathing
individual with all its thought process. When pilots are
asked how many are on board they report x numbers of
'souls'. Souls cannot be immortal as they are the product
of a functioning brain. To argue they are is mere conceit and wishful
thining. It follows that when the brain ceases to function the soul is
no more. It has not departed for somewhere else anymore than a
candle flame when it is extinquished. The candle is a good metaphor
for the soul. The flame is the visible manifestation of a rapid
chemical process, similarly the soul or self-awareness and
'thinking' is also the product of a chemical-electrical process.
Whilst we know why we see a what we call a 'flame' we do not
know how we are self-aware. This is one of lifes greatest mysteries
and ripe picking ground for those who like to delve into the
realms of ignorance for superstitious constucts.
