Recognize Life |
When Jesus came into the world,
the world did not recognize him.
It still does not recognize him.
Jesus is the LORD ("YHVH").
The LORD is the Eternal Life.
Because Jesus went to the cross,
he is our eternal life.
If the world recognized him,
it would not be looking for salvation
in churches and rituals and efforts.
The LORD Jesus is the Salvation,
and if you believe that
you will ask him for eternal life
and he will give you eternal life.

What happens when you find you don't like it?
That it's just the same crappy life you had on earth?

Indeed, what is this eternal life? Some proselytising lads in the street
once told me that heaven was paved with gold, and I had to tell them that I
didn't find that an attraction at all! And I don't want to twang a harp or
sit admiring God's glory. In any case a truly majestic god would not
require admiration or worship. What I would actually like to do for ever is
a bit too radical to mention in this newsgroup, and anyway the Pope once
said that it wasn't available in heaven. I do wonder how he knew, and I
wonder secretly if he was therefore disappointed as he was hoping to catch
up.
OK, call me trivial, but while I don't know how I would spend my time in
heaven, it isn't worth considering. Frank: what do you imagine you will be
doing for ever in heaven?

Hello Frank.
Apologies for sending this mail to your email address by accident, which is
what I think I just did now.
Your answer as quoted below 'And so we will be with the Lord forever' is
entirely meaningless to me. You must realise what 'forever' means - it's a
very long time! What will you actually be doing? Surely not just basking
in the love of God? Is it something like living at a holiday resort for
ever and sitting on the beach every day taking in the sunshine? I guess
that would suit many, but I'm one for getting off my backside and doing
things. Heaven is not looking very appealing.
Please, Frank, more details for this place - bible references would be fine,
and your own perceptions of life there. It is important you know. A
holiday brochure gives plenty of colourful details of the destination it is
advertising to would-be visitors.
Imagine you are writing a 12 page illustrated brochure for heaven. What are
you going to offer?

Hello Frank. You are giving me every indication that you don't know
anything about heaven. I hope you don't blame me for being very suspicious
about it all.
Don't you think you are signing a blank cheque - dedicating your whole way
of life to an ending which is being kept secret from you?
Please, please, enjoy your life on Earth and enrich it during these
precious moments of consciousness we have in whatever way you can (even if
it is only planting a few trees!) - so that Earth is better for your
contribution. Don't do things that are merely designed to get you into
heaven. Heaven doesn't matter. Give to Earth and you will die content.
Regards, Josh
