I'm thinking about starting a scam, oops, I mean a religion sorry, and I can
claim to be "saved by the all-powerful sky pixie", and christian nuts (oops,
I mean cult worshippers, oops, I mean brainwashed morons, OOPS AGAIN, I mean
FOLLOWERS) can line up around the block to give 10% of their pay to my scam,
oops, I mean my church, I'll be a millionaire in no time, pay no taxes, and
it's all perfectly legal
Who cares if they can't afford to give away that 10%, hey, this is in
support of the all-powerful sky pixie, and oh yeah, the all-powerful sky
pixie loves you, he'a all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise, and omni-potent,
yet for some unknown reason the ALL-POWERFUL sky pixie ALWAYS needs MAN-MADE

In my more mischievous moods I've actually thought about this. Churches
are afforded some pretty tasty financial carrots by the powers that be.
Plus the faithful are only too willing to open their pocketbooks to buy
their way to heaven. And some people will believe anything!
New religions have been founded and done fairly well in the fairly
recent past. But I think there's probably better money in the rise of
"neo-fundamentalism" amongst Christians. In my native New Zealand
there's a new sect called Destiny Church, run by self-appointed "Bishop"
Brian Tamaki. It's basically a personality cult of very little substance
set up to fleece the already poor on the basis of charismatic hellfire
and brimstone. He's doing very well. And I want in!! But that damn
little voice of conscience keeps interceding and telling me that
deceiving the scared masses out of money they don't have isn't very nice.
So back to the drawing board.
The irony is that if the hell that Brian keeps people terrified of
actually existed, he'd surely be headed for one of it's balmiest rooms.

Is your statement above grammatically and historically accurate?
Can you quote one witness that "saw" God kill anyone? I am talking
about the invisible God who is Spirit. How could anyone "see" Him
kill anyone? Could it be that you are referring to the behavior of
hyper-religious fundamentalist zealots who do those things in the name
of God - you know the guys that say that God told them to do stuff?
Are you against God, assholes who say they represent God, or both?
With regard to reality; could you cut some slack to those who watch
Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica. I would
appreciate it if you would. Hey, they are al alternative to religion
and a false hope. So could you allow us to pretend we are traveling
to distant galaxies? It's better and safer than booze and drugs.
