These photos are only of a very tiny fraction of the thousands of Iraqi
Civilian Victims who have been terrorised, humiliated, injured, maimed
and killed through British and American bombing of civilian areas in
various cities of Iraq. Due to lack of security, independent reporters could
not and still can not reach many areas to photograph and report the
atrocities. Several independent reporters and journalists were
deliberately bombed to prevent them reporting the atrocities.
Please note that some of these pictures are not suitable for small
children and those who have weak hearts.

That doesn't quite ring true for me.
While the official line was atheism; the point of removing other
religions was not to enforce atheism per say, but to clear the
way for another ism; be it Communism or Stalism or Maoism.
To "enforce" atheism would be to allow freedom of expression
and thought; to believe in what one wanted for religion, politics
economics... this obviously did not happen and was not the
goal. Perhaps that's my naive self-image of what atheism is.

Logically, a well reasoned post. However, it presupposes that political
leaders of any ilk really think through the edicts they issue. Religion
simply frightened the Communists, so they banned it. There were no lofty
goals associated with the decision. I find all religions humorous, but I
don't hate any of them. Still, nonsense like the Kabbah stone is so damned
irritating in the modern world. A meteor falls from the sky, seen by some
backward peasant. Thousands of years later a billion humans worship the
damned thing!!! Full Circle by Boyle is the only thing I've ever read that
really gets this right, although it takes a MUCH longer view of things.

Nonsense. Atheism is not a philosophy of any kind. It is merely the
lack of a belief in a deity. I am an atheist and live in a
parliamentary democracy with constitutionally guaranteed religious
freedom and all the other rights one expects in a modern democracy. I
support that system and have no desire to replace it with any kind of
tyranny. Your constant barrage of insulting lies is rather tiresome,
but it says more about your morals than it does about mine.

Sigh...
No, Frank, that's not what anyone is advocating. Your chronic habit on
putting words into people's mouths is bad enough, but when you do so in
such a blatantly disingenuous and puerile way, it only reflects on your
unwillingness or inability to conduct yourself like an adult.
The Soviet model clearly didn't work, because rather than exposing
religious nonsense to the light of day, it sought to add another layer
of darkness to it by simply outlawing it. If you want a political model,
consider modern Europe, rather than the former USSR.
Freedom FROM religion is achieved by shining a light on it, exposing
religion and religious organizations for what they are. Exposing the
hypocrisy and financial interests of religious groups, whose raw greed
for wealth and power hide behind fake piety, religious taboos, and
obscene tax laws. Religious taboos serve no one but those who profit
from ignorance.
Freedom FROM religion entails making religious myths and superstitions
socially unacceptable in adult discourse, an immediate red flag that the
person using such language is suspect in the same way someone who denies
the holocaust is viewed. More importantly, it involves making religion
unacceptable as a basis for laws and lawmakers; no more presidents who
believe they were "chosen by God", because that is a formula for
disaster (as we are living through presently.) No more persecution of
gay people because "God says it's a sin." Shining the light of science,
reason and skepticism on religious superstition has proven time and
again to benefit mankind.
Freedom FROM religion involves preventing child abuse by promoting
learning and free thought in our schools rather that dogma and blind
faith. Religion in schools turns them from centers of learning into
centers of ignorance, building armies of uneducated young people who are
prepared only for holy war. It creates dangerous, deviant subcultures,
from madrasas to "Jesus Camp". Religious brainwashing of children is the
great unspoken crime of history, and needs to be stopped.
Freedom from religion is about freedom. Freedom from ignorance and the
abuse of power that arises from it. Freedom from superstition and the
intolerance that arises from it. Freedom from brainwashing and the
violence that arises from it. That's what "freedom FROM religion" is all
about.

LOL You are just another anti-authoritarian, who hates his parents and
teachers as well as religion for telling him to be good boy, meaning kind,
generous, loving and caring. I bet you hate the law too, for requiring you
to be obedient to it, without needing your logic nor reason.
People like you drive on the wrong side of the road any time they feel
like, for who is anyone to tell you that you are wrong?
Get used to it already, the reality is, you will never be able to go to
the office naked, because logic and reason told you that's too hot to wear
clothes, or because all laws based on religion should be ignored, if not
opposed.

In our last episode,
<45711493$0$20585$88260bb3@free.teranews.com>,
the lovely and talented Pastor Frank
broadcast on alt.atheism:
At least you admit of being a liar for atheism, i.e. saying you
support
freedom of religion, when you mean freedom FROM religion,
There is no freedom of religion without freedom from religion.
Another lie for atheism? LOL
Freedom FROM religion requires atheists to outlaw freedom of speech and
religious expression and practice, save in the confines of the home and
church,
That's written down somewhere, liar?
as it btw was in the now defunct USSR, so that in public, no atheist
is exposed to any religion, nor its symbols.
You're aware there were churches in the USSR.
meaning you will abolish free speech and make promulgating religion a
criminal offence.
Liar.
ROFL How else will you get "freedom FROM religion"?
By getting theists like you to understand you have no right to impose
your beliefs on others through things like government oaths and slogans
on currency, troll.
We have seen government by militant atheists, where freedom of
religion
was guaranteed by the constitution, but only within the home and church.
No, we have not yet seen a free country.
Outside of such, it was a criminal offence to advocate the values of
Christ,
The values of christ are: slavery, murder of people unlike you,
oppression,
degradation of women, government control of every aspect of life.
Any quotes from Christ for evidence you want to submit? How is it, you
demand evidence from us, yet you won't supply any evidence yourself?
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife,
and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he
cannot be my disciple.
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one
tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Exodus 31:15
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest,
holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall
surely be put to death.
While you're at it, continue to ignore these, too:
Matthew 10:14
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye
depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Matthew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast
shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father
which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
who commanded we treat other as we want to be treated ourselves. See
below
the sorry record of such atheism.
Your jesus-appointed president is the most miserable failure in the
history
of the United States, and what is more, people are obviously getting wise
to the frauds of christofascists like you.
You appear to be just another hate-filled goof-ball. We all know well
enough, that Christ would not approve of any wars or killing. But then
atheists love to listen to Satan's minions, whose job is to fool atheists
into believing they are Christians. Being simple-minded, you fell for it!!!
You're insane.

Only in the wilful ignorance of bigots like you who are too stupid to

And that atheism isn't an -ism in itself but the demographic absence

In our last episode, <4571148e$0$20585$88260bb3@free.teranews.com>, the
lovely and talented Pastor Frank broadcast on alt.atheism:
The Christian religion requires non-violence from its followers,
Obviously it doesn't.
as per Jesus Christ,
According to the myth, he violently attacked the money-changers.
though some ignore this injunction.
Proving that it cannot be a divinely-inspired religion.
There is however no such requirement for atheists who can do unto others,
...whatever they can get away with, without feeling guilty nor remorseful.
But the christian is "Jesus died for your sins," so it is christians who
never consider the consequences of their actions. If they do the wrong
thing, christianity teaches, god will forgive them and make it right with
the victims. So when the christian god says "Black skin is the mark of Ham.
Africans should be your slave, hewing wood and drawing water," christians
rush out and enslave Africans. They never consider whether it right or
wrong; they only worry if it will make them enough money.

That's a rather simplistic view which ignores the need for repentance
and supplication. Furthermore, born-again Christians always ask: What Would
Jesus Do?, and do that. Obviously Jesus would not enslave anyone. However
many Christians are not born-again and don't ask that question. They do
that, so that atheists can gloat, trash and flame, and you fall for it. LOL

Since you have difficulty understanding that, I'll put it this way:
clearly christianity has no infallable teachings, for they all have failed.
Every time your prophets like Pat Robertson, George Bush, Fred Phelps,
that Hitler Youth in St. Peter's, Jerry Falwell, or gambling lobbiest Ralph
Reed open their mouths is is clear: if what is attribute to christ is the
goal of christianity, christianity is a miserable failure.
There is however no such requirement for atheists who can do unto others,

do.
