Replying to those who claim their mighty free will saved them. |
only Adam and Eve ever had free will. from the Fall til this day
reprobate man is ' held ' captive by his Satan's will ( 1 Tim. 2:26 )
; he " lies in the lap of the evil one " ( 1 Joh. 5:19 ) he is driven
to fulfill the lusts of his flesh by Satan ( Eph. 2:1-3 ) ; he does
not come to the Savior of his own ' free ' will ( Joh. 3:19,20 ) since
salvation is not by the ' will ' of man ( Joh. 1:12,13 ) ( a verse
the will worshipers stay far away from )
furthermore, if a person must do something for God first in order to
merit being graced by God, then salvation is based on the will of man
who " does not come to the Light " Joh. 3:19,20. ( peculiar that
unbeliever's come to the Light all the while their evilness keeps them
from coming to the Light but such is will worship. )
the will worshipers position seeks only the glory of man for
electing himself unto eternal life. he professes a Savior who can not
save unless man allows Him to shed His grace on those who contributed
to their own salvation by some sort of fancy act of positive volition
towards Christ.
if this is your gospel of a Savior who failed at Calvary you should
be wondering how it is that dead human spirits initiate life in
themselves and then go flocking to Jesus all the while man is said to
be among the " none who seek for God " ( Ro. 3:11 )
there isn't a verse in all of Scripture which implies salvation is
by the will of man, but rather, there are copious verses and examples
of salvation being all of grace... since election is unconditional...
such as in Luke 4:14-30.
to mix man's will with God's grace as though the gospel which saves
requires that something come from man first in order to prompt God to
grace him is the Gnostic gospel of works.
the children of Fundamentalism find themselves offering a Savior who
paid the penalty for the sins of all except the sin of unbelief. this
is their in to say man must believe of his own free will, thus placing
a condition on grace... which is no more grace but works, so they now
have plenty of room to glory in the flesh, as with those who profess
keeping 10 Commandments and think they saved themselves by some
ceremony, etc., etc.
unbelief, being a sin, is paid for by the death of Christ as well as
all other sins the elect commit.
the will worshiper is found offering a gospel of works for the
forgiven of sins. he makes grace a thing to work for as he
' surrenders ' his obstinate will by his own freedom of wise choice.
now God owes him something. now he has something of which to boast.
none of these things happen when God saves His elect ones for they
are given salvation simply because it's God's good pleasure to make a
return for the work of Christ. Eph. 1:3-14 grace means ' unmerited
favor '... if you did something for it you're saved by works.
none of the elect were ever saved by " making a decision for
Christ " or " accepting Jesus as their Lord " or placing all their
trust in Jesus " or by some patented Fundamentalist sinner's prayer...
all because not of that is in Scripture.
what is in Scripture is that Christ paid the penalty for the sins of
the elect since He came to save His people from their sins... He prays
for the elect in Joh. 17:9 and specifically not for the world of the
non-elect. the elect and these alone ever respond to the gospel
because in it God calls to Himself in Christ those whom He chose out
of His mercy, love and grace in eternity past... Eph. 1-3-14
while the rest are hardened. Ro. 9:18
the Living God first gives life to those whom He's chosen and at
that moment they become a new creation in Christ; believing in Jesus
Christ unto salvation comes after the giving of life by God and is
never the cause by which man saves himself... believing in Christ is
the direct result of being appointed to eternal life first. Acts 13:48
the glory for the doing goes to God in Christ. first comes life, then
comes faith...
the will worshiper has this reversed so he can get the glory for the
doing.
the term " Savior of the " world "" ( 1 Joh. 4:14 ) in Holy
Scripture means the world of the elect which Joh. 17:9 makes clear...
we will not forget the 4 Bible men who were fetuses when God called
them into His Light, Jesus, and caused them to be born from above all
the while they, as fetuses, neither spoke nor understood anything
beyond what a person asleep understands.
why then do the Fundamentalists and all other false witnesses offer
a Savior who can not save unless man gives him permission ? simply
because these are not convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit of God who
is sent into the world to round up the chosen ones for whom Christ
died, just as Joh. 16:8-11 says. it certainly is not the God hater
who's convicted of his sins, nor the Atheist, nor the glory stealing
will worshiper.
all of the glory and thanksgiving goes to God in Christ since
" salvation belongs to the Lord " Ps. 3:8
************************************************
" believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved "
Acts 16:31
" and as many as had been appointed to eternal life, believed."
Acts 13:48
