Return To The Gospel |
People need to RETURN to the gospel
to be ready for the coming of Christ.
As the Scriptures foretold,
there has been a turning away
from the gospel declared by the Bible
and by the Protestant Reformers.
Jesus in taking OUR PLACE on the cross
there FULLY RECONCILED us to God
who raised him back to life again.
Anyone who FULLY BELIEVES this
IMMEDIATELY places ALL of their trust
in JESUS HIMSELF for their salvation.
Anyone who does not fully believe this
trusts at most only partly in Jesus
and puts the rest of their trust elsewhere
such as in themselves, their resolve,
their church or its leaders or ordinances.
The moment anyone puts all their trust
in Jesus for their salvation,
this is what IMMEDIATELY occurs:
Christ comes into their heart to live;
they have the righteousness of Christ;
they are justified in the sight of God;
their sins are forgiven;
they pass from death to life;
they are born of God;
they have eternal life.
Having eternal life,
this is what occurs:
They grow in Christ;
are no longer slaves to sin,
but rather slaves to righteousness;
walk in love as Jesus walks;
and overcome the world.

@newsread4.news.pas.earthlink.net:
Why?
I can't see that this bunch of ancient, immature and poorly written fairy
tales helped anyone.

Hello Frank:
I think you are right that people need to return to the gospel.
Problem is, the gospel that is preached today, is the gospel that
people need to return from:-)
The gospel of Jesus is not the gospel about Jesus, it is the gospel
that Jesus preached, and that gospel has been around since God preached
it to Abraham.
The first turning away from the gospel occurred after the freed
Babylonian captives chose to live in Persian ruled Judea, rather than
taking back the land and becoming the great nation that God's
everlasting covenant required of them. The second falling away from
the gospel, was after Jesus and his apostles had brought many of those
backslidden Jews back to the "good news of the kingdom". Constantine
recognized that the true apostolic church was a threat to the national
security of the Roman empire, so he put the doctrines of the church to
a democratic vote between several pagan factions of the church, and the
one true faction of the church, knowing that the the true gospel would
be thrown out of the new universal church of the Roman empire.
The rest is church history, and church people need to return to the
gospel.

Hello Bill:
One bible version is as good as another.
What we have to return to is the logic of recognizing that the bible is
the story of the rise, the fall, and the effort to resurrect, the
kingdom of Israel, and not simply a book of single verses to be
selected for making up doctrines.
First century Christianity, like 6th century BC Judaism, was zealous to
resurrect the kingdom of Israel. The Romans, recognizing that
Christianity was a national security threat to the empire, drove
Christianity underground around 70AD. Zealot Christianity was
successfully diffused in the 4th century, when Constantine forced true
zealot Christianity to amalgomate with pagan factions of Christianity.
Christianity is now perpetually confused and constantly dividing, as it
trys to make sense out of a bible which was made completely confusing
when the pagan 4th century Nicean creed was carved in stone.
