At the turn of the last century, Mrs. Juliet E. Nichols tended the
Angel Island fog signal on San Francisco Bay. The bay area often has
a blanket of fog that rolls in from the Pacific
Ocean but on July 2, 1906 the dank mist became a foreboding shroud.
Ships heading for the bay were in danger because the mechanical
striking mechanism for the fog bell had broken down and the light from
the station's lantern was obscured
by the fog.
Faithful Juliet grabbed a common household hammer and repeatedly
pounded the giant bell for over 20 hours. Two days later, the bell
mechanism broke down again ... and in
spite of a stiff arm, she pounded the bell another night!
Warning signals have saved many seamen from perishing in a watery
grave and a timely warning to stop committing sin has been the means
of saving many a soul from hell.
When we see a believer disobeying God's Commandments, his faith is in
danger of shipwreck.
RING THE BELL! ...
RING THE BELL! ...
RING THE BELL! ...

It may seem like I repeatedly hammer away on the same old subject; but
I am always hoping that someone will hear the warning ... The next
time my words sound harsh, and jar your nerves, just think of
Juliet ...

save a SOUL from death ..." James 5:19-20.
