Say Goodbye to Roe v Wade |
President Bush, now re-elected with a mandate from the American public, will
replace a few of the current members of the U.S. Supreme Court, upon their
retirements. Justices Ginsberg, Stevens, O'Conner, and Chief Justice
Rehnquist all already have one foot out the door. Antonin Scalia will most
likely be elevated to Chief Justice and the other vacancies filled with Bush
appointments; setting the stage for the final overturning of Roe v Wade. The
liberal left will scream and spit, but will ultimately fail; just as they did
with this presidential election. The people have spoken. Accept it.

Actually, allowing Bush another four years to ***** up the country is a very
good thing. If we survive a second term, Bush's ineptitude will virtually
guarantee he'll be the last Republican president for at least 20 years.

I think you must be mistaked. I don't ever recall the Constitution ever
holding Clinton back.
I never understood why Democrats hold Bill Clinton in such high regard.
After all, it was because of him that the Democrats lost the House, the
Senate, the presidency, the majority of governorships, the majority of
state legislatures, etc. Even in some southern states where Republicans
could never get elected, Louisiana now has its first Republican Senator
ever and Georgia has two Republican Senators, its first Republican governor
since the Civil War, and the Republicans now control the state House for
the first time since the Civil War.
The tides are turning against the Democrats.

That comes as no surprise. If your posts are anything to go by, you don't
understand much of anything. Including the fact that not all Democrats *do*
hold Clinton in high regard.

I have a very high regard for Lady Chatterly; in fact I think of her
every time I am on Capitol Hill in Seattle.
Going north from Madison takes one first past John St. then Thomas.
Prudish town - no Lady Jane anywhere near.
I was referring to the apparently OTW response about angry people not
praying. I couldn't relate what I had written to the the response.

Are you positive?

I think you must be mistaked. I don't ever recall the Constitution ever

I never understood why Democrats hold Bill Clinton in such high regard.
After all, it was because of him that the Democrats lost the House, the
Senate, the presidency, the majority of governorships, the majority of
state legislatures, etc. Even in some southern states where Republicans
could never get elected, Louisiana now has its first Republican Senator
ever and Georgia has two Republican Senators, its first Republican

House for the first time since the Civil War.
The tides are turning against the Democrats.
Right. And the economy hasn't been this bad since Reagan.

Republicans held him in high regard too (as witness the approval figures
even while the impeachment stuff was going on,) even more so before he was
put in a position where he thought he had to lie to keep his job.

Do you recall Clinton putting people into prison without charging them

I never understood why Democrats hold Bill Clinton in such high regard.

President Bush, now re-elected with a mandate from the American public,
will
replace a few of the current members of the U.S. Supreme Court, upon their
retirements. Justices Ginsberg, Stevens, O'Conner, and Chief Justice
Rehnquist all already have one foot out the door. Antonin Scalia will most
likely be elevated to Chief Justice and the other vacancies filled with
Bush
appointments; setting the stage for the final overturning of Roe v Wade.
The
liberal left will scream and spit, but will ultimately fail; just as they
did
with this presidential election. The people have spoken. Accept it.
Actually, allowing Bush another four years to ***** up the country is a very
good thing. If we survive a second term, Bush's ineptitude will virtually
guarantee he'll be the last Republican president for at least 20 years.
Stick to your plan of singleness.

I'm afraid not. The SC may somewhat redefine and add restrictions to it, but
Roe v Wade won't be overturned. There's a vast majority of the country who
believe that it should remain legal--but restricted. Few believe in free 'n
easy abortion on demand. I say leave it up to individual states--if you want
to outlaw it, fine; however, don't penalize a woman who crosses state lines
to get an abortion elsewhere.
Just my two pence.

they want.
