So how was Horn's thanksgiving? |
Hey Dvae how was your thanksgiving? Did you eat lots of Turkey? Do you
drink lots of eggnog? Me and my cousin had a wonderful time, and
watched the movie "cars" over the holiday. What a great flick that one
was. Last night we went and saw both Casino Royal and Deju Vu, both
were good flicks that we might see again before I leave for New York at
the end of the week.
Dave I know that you need people to love you, because so many
christians have acted so unlike Christ. My cousin would comment, but he
has told me that he has talked too much and ruined his chances at
evangelizing to you.
I hope you do indeed get saved one day Dave. Jason Gastrich, John
Weatherly nor my cousin can save you. But God can and wants too.

I see you are still trying to pretend that you are someone else. This
seems to be a big problem with you and I think may arise from a lack of
either genuine faith or self esteem.
The former undoubtedly lies in your pathetic attempts to pretend superior
or elitist understanding of a belief system, which in you lacks a central
core of evidence that even you give full credence. You expound in an
attempt to cover up the massive unbelief you have within yourself in your
chosen religion
It doesn't work , does it? The louder you bluster your claimed belief,
the more empty you in fact make the vessel exclaiming that non existent
belief. If you continue there will in the end be no belief left at all.
You can trust me on that - push much further and when it all collapses -
which it will - there will THEN be no way back at all. You will have
found the abyss and it will never leave you.
Belief does not require right choices , what it requires is EVIDENCE. You
try to avoid the necessity for that by expressing belief to others in the
hope that by going through the motions the "Holy Spirit" will fill the
vacuum in you. But you have tried this under sixty five aliases so far -
it is NEVER going to work
John Wolf you are nothing except a simple damaged human being and have
nothing to offer. CERM is a fraud and a scam - a vessel even emptier than
its human creator. You need to properly examine why you are doing this.
Could it be some form of childhood abuse or trauma that you have failed to
properly confront? Look at your parents and ask yourself if you really in
fact like and respect them and if so ask why they have failed in YOUR
expectations for THEM as parents. Is it their failure or YOUR
expectation?
John Wolf, NO-ONE needs either you or your love , except perhaps your
family. You face a lonely and rejected existence unless you come to terms
with this madness within you. No system of re-education will ever make it
possible to catch up with what you have lost in this digression you have
made from reality in life. You will NEVER have anything to teach, that
others will need to learn, except perhaps the factual existence of the
possibility to escape from the madness that now confines you
It is not others that NEGATE you as a person, but YOU who, through your
sixty five aliases, negate yourself. You are what a girl looking at you
(or boy for that matter) would call "damaged goods". Only several years
of therapy is likely to heal you - and that therapy needs to have a clear
and stable SECULAR base. You are not ready for sexual relationships, and
may never be ready for anything other than masturbation.
It is your choice - go on as you are being ridiculed - because you ARE
ridiculous - or start the process of personal reconstruction one step at a
time , one day at a time. I wish you well in this path, and hope you have
the good sense to take it. I would advise you strongly to seek
counselling that will put you in contact with Fundamentalism deprogramming
counselling. You need deprogramming from Fundamentalism very badly - it
has damaged you, and hidden your exit from its clutches.

It is YOU that needs rescuing, and deep down I can see that you know it.
Take that first step. - It is as easy as recognising the simple reality
that your present life is a mess, your dreams both shattered and rendered
false. That you confront the world stripped spiritually naked, through
years of immersion in the insanity of Fundamentalism - that Fundamentalism
is a false and evil creed parasitical to the religion or ideology that it
has attatched itself to. Fundamentalism has destroyed whatever
Christianity or genuine Christ was ever in you , if any, for it may have
given you the ILLUSION of Christ within you - it does that. The first
step requires you to recognise you have no mission - it requires you to
humble yourself and recognise that you are just one human amongst six
billion, no better - and no worse - than any other.
You have been a fool - a self made one - or a paretally or malignant adult
created one
It is TIME to grow up
It is TIME to get a LIFE
It is TIME to bring a childish fantasy to an end
And after a period of recovery from religious fanatacism, it is time to
confront the reality of what Christianity really is - the appallingly bad
as well as the good.
You will lose your acted out self confidence in eternal life- but you
don't really believe in it the way you act that belief out anyway. You
will be confronted with your own ignorance and may obsessively seek to
correct it.
But you will gain a Cosmos with which you feel more at one than now in
your present piece of theatre. You will feel both more alone but less
empty, more individual but better loved. No-one can offer what your
fantasy dreams of. No-one ever could - that is the nature of the dream but
reality may well seem more embracing because you once had that dream -
once lived in what aborigines here might call a "Dreamtime"
But if your "Dreamtime" loses you your reality then it has failed and
continues to fail in its psychic purpose. I believe your Dreamtime has -
because it has been deranged , distorted and treated as sacriligious by
the insanity of fundamentalism and the evil of those bastards who
consciously perpetruate this creed in order to exploit the vulnerable

QUESTION
I would very much like to hear your comments on "religious abuse"
particularly as it concerns fundamentalism, especially within a family.
I am closely connected with a family where the father of two teenage
daughters has them "brain-washed" into believing that he speaks for God
and that God speaks through him.
He has for all practical purposes separated them from the world, using
home schooling as a way of keeping them from being involved in the "evil
world."
To my knowledge, there is no physical abuse in the family setting but
there is certainly emotional abuse. The girls are frightened of their
father because to displease him is to displease God.
There is a book (older - published in 1991) on the subject: "When God
becomes a Drug" by Father Leo Booth that has been helpful to me. Can you
recommend anything more current on the subject?
ANSWER
Your letter on the surface points to a deep pathology that has religious
overtones. However, it is dangerous to prescribe for sickness based on
second hand data.
Unfortunately, if what you say is true, they will not respond to
intervention because anyone who intervened would be working for the devil.
Our society gives wide berth to obvious pathology when it is covered by
religious language.
If you could read my mail, you would see countless numbers of letters from
people like the two teenage daughters to which you refer, who tell me of
similar abuse and how they managed to escape it. Those who don't escape it
become mental patients themselves or repeat the abuse in another
generation.
The signs of pathology are the identification between the authority figure
(the father) and God so that by disagreeing with or disobeying the
authority figure is regarded as being identical to disagreeing with or
disobeying God.
The idea that only the parent can teach the child and abandoning the
public education system is normally the sign of a deeply threatened,
controlling personality. Parents who control their children through fear
are also deeply disturbed people.
Since I do not see this as a religious problem but as a psychological
problem, I think you should read in qualified psychological books and
journals under the subject of Religion as Pathology. Leo Booth's book is a
good beginning; perhaps his bibliography will give you more clues.
