KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) - A former Free Will Baptist pastor has been
sentenced to two years in prison and six years' probation after
pleading guilty to charges related to sexual encounters with a
16-year-old boy.
Herbert "Herby" Powers had faced up to 12 years on charges of
aggravated statutory rape. He pleaded guilty in an agreement with
prosecutors yesterday.
