STUDY OF REVELATION : THE FIFTH THING
The Fifth thing is to continue our separation of the visions into
individual files so that we can recognize and study each vision
individually.
In this post I include two visions. This is actually something
each reader should do, and the version or translation should be
one you find comfortable. These individual text files will be of
no use except to show the individual visions clearly; study and
reference will still need to be done using your favorite Bible.
BIRTH, DEATH AND RESURRECTION
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with
the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown
of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in
birth, and pained to be delivered.
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great
red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns
upon his heads.
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did
cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman
which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon
as it was born.
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations
with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to
his throne.
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place
prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two
hundred and threescore days.
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought
against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And
prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the
Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast
out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation,
and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his
Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which
accused them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word
of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to
the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come
down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he
hath but a short time.
And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he
persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she
might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is
nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face
of the serpent.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the
woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth,
and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war
with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God,
and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the
bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the
Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him
into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon
him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the
thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be
loosed a little season.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given
unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the
witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not
worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his
mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and
reigned with Christ a thousand years.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years
were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
BEAST FROM THE SEA
And I stood upon the sand of the sea; and I saw a beast rising
out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon its
horns ten diadems, and upon its heads names of blasphemy.
And the beast which I saw was like to a leopardess, and its feet
as of a bear, and its mouth as a lion’s mouth; and the dragon
gave to it his power, and his throne, and great authority; and
one of his heads was as slain to death, and his wound of death
had been healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast.
And they did homage to the dragon, because he gave the authority
to the beast; and they did homage to the beast, saying, Who is
like to the beast? and who can make war with it?
And there was given to it a mouth, speaking great things and
blasphemies; and there was given to it authority to pursue its
career forty-two months.
And it opened its mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme
his name and his tabernacle, and those who have their tabernacle
in the heaven.
And there was given to it to make war with the saints, and to
overcome them; and there was given to it authority over every
tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation; and all that dwell on
the earth shall do it homage, every one whose name had not been
written from the founding of the world in the book of life of the
slain Lamb.
If any one has an ear, let him hear.
If any one leads into captivity, he goes into captivity. If any
one shall kill with the sword, he must with the sword be killed.
Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.
And I saw another beast rising out of the earth; and it had two
horns like to a lamb, and spake as a dragon; and it exercises all
the authority of the first beast before it, and causes the earth
and those that dwell in it to do homage to the first beast, whose
wound of death was healed.
And it works great signs, that it should cause even fire to come
down from heaven to the earth before men.
And it deceives those that dwell upon the earth by reason of the
signs which it was given to it to work before the beast, saying
to those that dwell upon the earth to make an image to the beast,
which has the wound of the sword, and lived.
And it was given to it to give breath to the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should also speak, and should cause
that as many as should not do homage to the image of the beast
should be killed.
And it causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the
poor, and the free and the bondmen, that they should give them a
mark upon their right hand or upon their forehead; and that no
one should be able to buy or sell save he that had the mark, the
name of the beast, or the number of its name.
Here is wisdom. He that has understanding let him count the
number of the beast: for it is a man’s number; and its number is
six hundred and sixty-six.
