GREENSBURG, Pa. -- State police arrested a Westmoreland County man who they
say threatened to harm his ex-girlfriend, her baby and the child's father in
a text message, WTAE Channel 4's Jennifer Miele reported Thursday.
The woman showed troopers at the Greensburg barracks her cell phone, and on
it were messages that made reference to killing all three of them, police
said.
In one of the texts, the sender said he had a big knife that would look cool
going into the baby's neck, police said.
The woman told police that said the suspect, Adrian Stock, 26,was angry that
she had a baby with another man.
According to police, the texts indicated that Stock wanted to snap the
baby's neck and stab the new boyfriend. He also said he had a big knife.
Police said Stock also wanted to trap his ex, her new boyfriend and the baby
in their house and burn it down.
The text messages also talked about wanting to bomb a courthouse and a
welfare office, police said.
Police said they took the bomb threat seriously after the woman told them
the man had purchased some ammonium nitrate, which is a material that can be
used to make explosives.
"They were able to see the text messages," said Trooper Jeanne Martine of
the Pennsylvania State Police. "She still had those on her phone. He was
apprehended at his place of employment in Pittsburgh, and he was charged
with several crimes and is currently in the Westmoreland County Jail."
Police searched Stock's home Thursday on Western Avenue in Jeannette looking
for anything he could have used to do that.
Witnesses told police Stock bought several ice packs, drained the ammonium
nitrate out of them and began testing it to see how well it would burn. They
also told police to look for wires, small silver tubes and possibly blasting
caps.
Police said they believe Stock is also responsible for shooting paintballs
at the Westmoreland County Courthouse on Wednesday.
Witnesses told police Stock bragged to them that he was behind the
vandalism.
Stock is charged with attempted homicide, terroristic threats and other
related charges, police said.
