assets built up they will find that they are not worth as much as they paid
for them. That's the way economics works.
A current account deficit is the flip side of high foreign investment, and
the fact is that the US is a good home for capital.

If the foreigners find that US securites they own are "worth less", as
you imply up there, then that means there was a massive dollar
devaluation against foreign currencies. A massive dollar devaulation

intrest rate, grinds the economy to a halt, and plunges the US into a
deep Deoression.
