If one looks at Daniel's representation of the statue, one begins to
see the US. The legs of iron are believed to be the Roman empire
which later split with two captials in ROme and Constantinople
(Istanbul). BY the time of the end, this empire is geographically
seperate represented by the 2 feet of a mixture of iron and clay. The
peoples of the Americas are culturally, and physically the descendents
of the former ROman Empire, except for minorities of Africans, Asians,
and aboriginal peoples.

Iron and clay represents a mixture of strength and weaknesses, which
is inherent in democratic societies, when these nations come together,
as in the coalitions against Iraq in both gulf wars, they are
formidable, but there is a weakness in that the leaders are subject to
periodic review by the people they rule (elections).

As to the *****, who is the mother of whores ...

whores, harlots, etc.
are always used in prophetic literature to represent idolators. The
***** is symbolic of false religion.

in prophetic literature is always used to describe nations (kingdoms
then). The false religious system, can be primarily identified as a
religious system that derives support of one kind or another by
governments ... ie, state sponsorship, supported through taxes, or
indirectly through having a tax-deductible status. Thus, in the US,
all tax exempt churches are a part of the false religious system
symbolized in Revelation as the ***** of Babylon.

To a point, and for his time, Alexander Hislop does a good job
identifying the ***** in his book, the Two Babylons, except, as a
Protestant clergyman, he seems to have been blinded to the fact that
Protestant religions are the descendents (daughters) of the RCC,
which, itself is a daughter of the original Babylon, or Babel, or
Chaldea, whom whence all idolatry originated. All gods and goddesses
trace back to the rulers of the first city-state, Nimrod and his
mother/wife.... as can be seen, for example in Asherah who was married
to both Baal and Baal's father, Dagon. Nimrod became the father, his
wife/mother the goddess, and, as the son of the goddess, Tammuz (the
son is almost always a sun god). All trinities trace back to these
two individuals.
