The Awful Truth |
No one wants to know the truth, it's all about your own truth, and
not wanting to sullie that image that you have - of 'truth'.
But I do believe in 'truth' and that which is.
I'm willing to change my truth so as to encompass that, which is.
Sadly I've come to the conclusion that much of religion is not about
'truth' but more about power and control - the same for the holy scriptures,
etc. People say - read the bible - read the bible.
Do you really honestly believe that it is accurate and true?
Given the nature of man, and of man's history.
There are of course 'truths' in the bible.
I guess I'm put off by those speaking for god, or interpreting for god,
and I'd rather let god speak for itself.
Excuse my own ranting and sermonising...

Way to go HARVEY. Very good observation. I have one thought for you to
ponder. Lets have some IF's.
IF GOD IS AND HAS CREATED US, IS IT POSSIBLE HE ALSO HAS GIVEN US SOMEWAY TO
KNOW HOW TO LIVE OUR LIVES. Like a manual.????
IF HE HAS GIVEN US SOMETHING, could it be the Bible???
IF the bible is God's word, and as John 17:17 says,, "your word is truth"
then IF we read it, and IF we try to understand it, maybe, just maybe we
will find the truth contained there in. ???
What do you say? Does this line of reasoning have any merit?
