JOHNSTOWN, Colo -- Three 16-year-old girls were injured Thursday afternoon
when their sport utility vehicle crashed into a train.
One of the two passengers was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected
through the windshield, the Colorado State Patrol said. The driver was
airlifted to North Colorado Medical Center, but was alert and talking, a CSP
investigator at the scene told 7NEWS.
The girls' conditions were not released.
Video from the scene shows a long stretch of skid marks leading up to the
crossing area, showing that the driver was trying to stop the SUV but was
too late, 7NEWS reported. The white 1990 Ford Bronco rammed into the Union
Pacific freight train and then bounced back onto the same side of the road,
coming to a stop at a railroad crossing sign. The front end of the Bronco
was badly damaged.
The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. on County Road 17 and County Road 52 in
Weld County, near Johnstown.
The area has a railroad crossing sign but no guards or crossing arms.
The road is closed at this time but since it's in a pretty rural area,
traffic is not impacted. Cars are being diverted onto other county roads.

The tone of your argument tells me that you are probably not willing to
discuss the matter thoughtfully and respectfully. So why even start a debate
that you don't seem to be willing to join?
If you believe in God---any version of God---I think I may be able to
provide you with answers as to why God sometimes seems to be so removed from his
"creation". But if you don't believe in God, it would be a waste of my time. Not
knowing what you believe, I have no idea where to start.
If you are an atheist, then the premise of debate, in this case, is a moot.
If you believe in God---to one degree or another---then there are ways to
address your point. If you want me to address your point, I have to know more
about your beliefs. Otherwise I wouldn't have any reason to waste my time. I
would prefer to spend my time responding to different messages. It's up to you.
I believe in God, but I also believe that God is indifferent to whether or
not mankind "believes" in him/her/it. In other words, I think that an atheist
who is a good person is as well loved in the eyes of God as believer who is an
equally good person. Carl Sagan is a good example.
I believe Sagan was very enlightened in his own way, even though he was an
atheist. (He may have considered himself an agnostic, I can't recall). In
general I believe he was a very honorable man. He was brilliant, and his
teaching of astrophysics a great benefit to society.
Still, I think his views in regard to what I call spirituality, were
narrow-minded and could be misleading to anyone seeking spiritual insights. But
I don't think he intended to do harm. I think he was just trying to warn people
away from what he saw as unscientific thought.
Of course, spirituality is unscientific. Science has nothing to say on the
existence of God, one way or another. Science is of no more use in *disproving*
God than it is in *proving* God. But I think the scientific *arts*, for
instance, phsychology and the study of the human brain, are beginning to make
sense of a lot of phenomena which have been difficult to accept, using a
scientific model, but which mystics have claimed to exist for thousands of
years.

I beg to differ. It seems that science is becoming increasingly adept at
showing why belief in God is totally superfluous to understanding the physical

I think you are missing the point. He obviously doesn't believe the Christian
god exists, and he finds Christianity repugnant, as do many of us non-
believers. He just expresses that opinion in a different fashion than most of
us.
There are plenty of times that Christians ***** me off with their puerile
prattle and their idiot theories about science and society, and I feel like
doing what SheBlewHim is doing, lashing out at them in a way that really annoys
them. But then it passes. If it makes SheBlewHim feel better to actually post
what he is feeling, I say bully for him. Some of us feel the same way, but we
choose to deal with it in other ways, that's all.
I root for SheBlewHim for the same reason I enjoy Marilyn Manson. It is
refreshing to see rebellion against Christianity. It is a good, healthy
response to a massive atrocity.
