WEST LEBANON, Ind. -- Indiana State Police said a man and a 9-year-old boy
were killed in a collision involving a tractor-trailer and car that also
critically injured two more people Thursday evening.
Police said the car, driven by Loyal Foote, 46, of Lafayette, failed to stop
for a stop sign at a rural intersection near West Lebanon in Warren County,
about 25 miles southwest of Lafayette at about 7:30 p.m.
The car was hit by a tractor-trailer that was carrying coils of steel,
killing Foote and the boy.
Two other passengers in the car, an 8-year-old girl and Robyn Walls, 24, of
Westville, Ill., were hospitalized in critical condition in Urbana, Ill.
The names of the children were not immediately released.
The truck driver wasn't injured
