The Emergent Church movement ministry philosophy. Is it biblical? |
If anyone is under 30 they will know what I mean by the Emerging Church.
It is a movement of young people, who are fightining in response to the
so called Seeker church movement.
I wrote an article revealing the biblical errors of 2 churches of this

The Emerging Church wishes to be relevent to the culture in an effort to
redeem it. So they take out the offense of the gospel, and bring in
relevent music, movies, video games, and other activities in an attempt
to make church "comfortable" to the sinner. The Emerging Church is very
much into "user-friendly pragmatisim."
Here are a couple of comparisons between the Emerging Church and the
gospel.
SALVATION
Emerging Church
Man adds to the church daily as should be saved through relational
methods...
Churches are taking into consideration what the unsaved and/or
unchurched dislike about the church, then applying the results and
statistics to determine how the church should be run.
The bible
"...And the LORD added to the church daily such as should be saved" Acts
2:47.
PHILOSOPHY OF THE CULTURE
Emerging Church
Conform the Church to the image of the world and modern cultural
trends in order to make the church comfortable place for the unsaved.
The bible
"Know ye not that friendship of the world is enmity with God?" James
4:4.
"And be not conformed to this world..." Romans 12:2.
"The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from
heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness..." Romans 1:17-18.
PREACHING/TEACHING
The Emerging Church
Do not offend seekers with "religious" words.
The Bible Church
1Cor. 1:18 ¶ For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who
are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
