The Fruit of the Mouth
Proverbs 18
21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
There is lot of power in this scripture, but it should not be
misunderstood as power in the tongue. Our lives are affected by what
we speak, but it is not what we speak that affects our lives.
Confused?
Let me explain (for I was thought by the Lord with great experience
which I will never forget in my life and I pray you do not experience
it).
We as believers in Christ when we live in the Word of God we receive
long (healthy) life and prosperity.
Proverbs 3
1 My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you prosperity.
But our tongue has the power to destroy that. It is not only what we
speak but also what others speak to us. This does that mean that if
anybody speak any nonsense to us it will affect us. The power to let
it happen is also with us. Proverbs 18:21 says that 'the power of life
and death' is in the tongue, but the words used later is they 'will
eats its fruit'. Also Proverbs 13:2 says "A man shall eat good by the
fruit of his mouth.."
Let's go a little deeper. When a flower gets pollinated it becomes a
fruit. All flowers do not become good fruits, some can be poisonous.
What you or any person speaks is like flowers and your meditating on
it is like pollinating it. If the flower (words) is good and you
meditate on it you pollinate it and receive life. If the flower is bad
and you pollinate it you will receive poisonous fruit and it will
affect your life. THE POWER TO POLLINATE IS WITH YOU.
If a person speaks anything that can harm you, just do not give value
to the words. For as a child of God and person pursuing God's Word you
have a good life and prosperity (both spiritual and material) which no
one can take away from us other than God and ourselves. If God has put
His beloved Son through death for us to receive it, there is no way He
will take it away. It is only we who can reject it by what we believe.
For it is only by our belief in Christ that we receive all the
goodness.
When any person speaks any words that can cause harm to you or to your
household, please do not give importance to it. But if by any chance
you have entertained those words please immediately cancel them in the
Name of Jesus, claim complete protection over yourself and your
household by the Blood of Jesus and nothing will happen to you or to
your household. In fact the person who spoke those words will bear
double portion of what was spoken and if you love that person ask them
to cancel their own words.
[ Prayer for the Day ]
Lord I thank You for giving me the power to bless others with my
tongue, let me not misuse it and harm them by the same tongue. I also
thank You Lord for all the goodness You have made available to me,
which no one can take that away from me. Help me from becoming an
obstacle in receiving it by my unbelief. I cancel all the words of
death and destruction which I have or others have spoken to me in the
Name of Jesus and claim total protection over myself and my household
by the Blood of Jesus Christ. This prayer I make in the Name of Jesus
Christ. Amen
