The God-Haters: Why? |
As early as the days of the sweet psalmist David, who was also a prophet,
the last days of this tumultuous earth were foreseen, and the final rage
against the God of creation. In the words of Psalm 2, the picture is vividly
displayed:
Psalms 2:1-12 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands
asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens
shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto
them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my
king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath
said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and
I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts
of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron;
thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now
therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD
with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and
ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are
all they that put their trust in him.
Not in my lifetime have I seen the United States of America in such disarray
about what was taken for granted for almost 200 years: that while America
was not a "Christian nation" by any law, it was founded by settlers who were
Christians indeed, and as a nation the "founding fathers" were deists,
theists and Christians who all shared a common respect for the tenets of
Christianity and the Ten Commandments. Those Commandments, the Bible in
which they are contained, the cross of Christ that has become symbolic of
the Christian faith, the right to free exercise by Christians of their
faith, are all under attack by liberals, Marxists, adherents to the New
World Order, God-haters of various stripes, Druids, Wiccans, and any number
of other pagans who want Christianity eradicated.
However, these same God-haters want the blessings God bestowed on America,
and you cannot have both!
This nation in its Christian-based kindness to those who have suffered
religious persecution (even between those of different Christian
denominations) established two things in the First Amendment: 1) that
Congress could make no law regarding an establishment of religion (a state
church) and 2) that the government could not prohibit the free exercise of
anyone's faith - Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, and whatever other
religion or lack of it any individual wished to exercise.
Those days are gone, and America's citizens are rapidly proving that
Christianity, real Bible Christianity, is no longer the faith of the
majority in this nation. Far from it, true Christians are apparently a small
minority if one judges by what they allow in the way of desecration of
Christian artifacts up to and including the Holy Bible and the Ten
Commandments (which are contained in the Jewish Torah or Greek Pentateuch,
the first five books of Moses).
The pattern of the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is that it is the remnant
that shall be saved. After all, only eight persons survived the Flood of
Noah's day, and only three generations later apostasy had taken hold once
more to produce Babylonian/Sumerian false religion.
Most people hate God. They are enemies of God.
Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not
subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
The "carnal mind" is what we are born with in our sin nature, and it is a
slave of sin and the flesh, the enemy of all things truly godly until it has
been regenerated by a new, spiritual birth. What evidence is there of this?
How about the first chapter of Romans:
Romans 1:20-31 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even
his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because
that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed
the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible
man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God
also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to
dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this
cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change
the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the
men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward
another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in
themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they
did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled
with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness,
maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil
things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers,
without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
What a vivid description of today's society as contrasted with the news of
forty years ago! These "progressive" thinkers who wish to throw God out of
our nation and still keep the nation have a surprise in store ... when the
people reject God, He not only withdraws His blessings, but His protection.
You just cannot hate God and have His blessings.
Our founding fathers knew this and I will quote from some of them:
And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed
their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these
liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with
his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just:
that his justice cannot sleep for ever (Thomas Jefferson, Writings [New
York, New York: Literary Classics of the United States, Inc., 1984], p. 289)
"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one
indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of
Christianity." -John Quincy Adams
John Adams declared, "Our constitution was made only for a moral and
religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other."
Obviously, "any other" is what constitutes the majority of Americans today,
especially in the federal judiciary from the federal district court all the
way to the Supreme Court. This has been the case since 1962 when Justice
Hugo Black wrote the majority opinion in the case of Engle v. Vitale.
There is nothing in the Constitution that says we must remain a moral and
virtuous people. However, the Constitution is being twisted as savagely as
the Christian underpinnings of our nation and the practice of the Christian
faith in public today. It has even become the opinion of many that the
symbol of the cross should be removed from churches, private property,
because their display is offensive.
Why the God-haters? Because for all their education, they have no spiritual
life in them. They hate any rules not of their own making, not open to their
own ideas of right and wrong, accepting of their perversions, open to any
evil device without consequences, and demanding their obedience to a higher
and absolute standard.
They will have none of that. But the law of cause and effect is as permanent
as the law of gravity. No God? Then no blessing, no safety, no standards,
and eventually chaos. It is a self-destruct mechanism that never fails to
detonate.
Do I believe in a state church? No. I would agree with the founders that
there must be freedom from state controlled religion and state-imposed
church membership. I absolutely agree with the establishment clause but
unlike our God-haters and liberal judiciary, I believe solidly in "no law
respecting an establishment of religion, nor prohibit the free exercise
thereof."
The problem, however, has to be tossed right back at the churches. Had they
rallied to the cause of their rights to the free exercise of their faith,
they would have begun to fight back in 1962, when this nation still held
SOME moral standards. Now it has next to none.
Aside from abandoning God, the nation has engaged in entangling alliances,
debt to the extent of bankruptcy (both financial and moral), erratic
behavior such as protecting the children from smoke but not from NAMBLA and
the teachings of sexual perversion in schools. If one says "smoke is
harmful" then I must remind them that AIDS is not healthy either. Nor are
recreational drugs. Nor is promiscuous sex whether heterosexual, homosexual
or bisexual.
It is incredible to believe that there are so many God-haters in a nation
that has been so blessed by God. Once we relished in singing "God Bless
America." Frankly I cannot sing that song now, not because I do not love
America but because I hate what it is becoming and the sole blessing God
could bestow on it is revival.
But if this is indeed the harvest time, then it is only the gleanings that
will be preserved, because the remainder of the world is reserved for fire
in the time of the great judgment.
God's elect are His, and have been since before the foundation of the world,
and that will endure forever.
To the remainder .. the ungodly ... remember at the final judgment that you
are standing before the One you hated, and expect full justice.

You should do something about your own hatred for God. Why do you hate
Him so? I mean you continually bear false witness in His name, so please
don't tell me that you have any respect for the ten commandments. I mean
that's two of them, right there.
But then I guess each God-hater must do his own part in the eradication
of Christianity. Your trick is to work from within the churches and turn
them into a pack of latter-day Pharisees and hypocrites instead of actual
Christians. Maybe if you did something about THAT instead of worrying
about Marxists and Wiccans, you wouldn't find them so worrying.
Oh, and if you want God's blessings, then DESERVE them. You won't get
them by taking His name in vain.

Many don't make a distinction between those who merely don't believe and
thus reject their beliefs and those who attack them because they are
Christians. They see the rejection as the same as an attack. In their world
if you are an unbeliever you somehow hate god and nothing could be further
from the truth. If Christians would learn to temper their histrionics they
might find themselves having an honest discussions over their differences. A
little bit of respect for other beliefs might go a long way as well. Most
unbelievers just don't care what religion someone else is and see the over
reaction as looking for a fight when no fight is around.

By conflating your Jewish birth with your Christian belief you spread
confusion among the ignorant, who then innocently believe that one can

Why should he not be both? Jesus was a Jew...
This is the sort of confusion that people like Glenn seek to exploit.
Jesus of Nazareth, like Glenn, was born Jewish. But both of them did
things publicly that violated Halacha (Jewish Law). There are many lists
of what Jesus did to repudiate his Judaism. Glenn's case is much simpler
- he publicly violates the Second Commandment every time he prays to or
through Jesus.
Now, please don't misunderstand, there is nothing inherently wrong with
what either of them did. Everyone has a right to the faith of their
choice. People have the right to change religions as well. None of those
is the issue for me.
What does anger me, even inspires fear in me, is Glenn's willingness to
claim that he is Jewish. He was apparently born of a Jewish mother,
which would mean he would be Jewish if he did not repudiate the
religion. But he did that, yet he claims that he can be both Jewish and
Christian. No matter how he denies claiming to be Jewish, that's what he
does, and he thus sows the seeds of confusion. By doing so he willingly
allows people to believe that one can be Jewish and still pray to Jesus
of Nazareth. That is an outright lie, and he misrepresents himself and
slanders Judaism every time he does it. I just don't let him weasel out
of it.
HTH.
And I would also like to know who you are... Are you a Christian?
No, I am Jewish. The real thing, the genuine article. My mother is
Jewish and I have done nothing to publicly repudiate my religion.

You attack it by claiming to be religiously Jewish.
Again, I have made no such claim, so your accusation is totally
meaningless.
By conflating your Jewish birth with your Christian belief you spread
confusion among the ignorant, who then innocently believe that one can
be both.
Why should he not be both? Jesus was a Jew...
This is the sort of confusion that people like Glenn seek to exploit.
Vera, don't let Cactus' confusing blood-line with religion confuse you. The
"religious Jews" (meaning they of Judaism) try to do the impossible, that is
to purge us from our heritage (something only God can do) because we have
'left' (in their opinion) Judaism ! Ignoring the Messiahic prophecies.
Jesus of Nazareth, like Glenn, was born Jewish. But both of them did
things publicly that violated Halacha (Jewish Law). There are many lists
of what Jesus did to repudiate his Judaism. Glenn's case is much simpler -
he publicly violates the Second Commandment every time he prays to or
through Jesus.
Confusing religion with blood-line doesn't work with we who know the
differance between the two.
Just like I, Jesus remained a Jew (as it is in His blood) !
I have no other choice, to claim otherwise would be to lie about what I am.
Whether or not my remaining true to who and what I am causes you "fear"
(which I find to be exteamly silly on your part) can't be helped.
He was apparently born of a Jewish mother, which would mean he would be
Jewish if he did not repudiate the religion.
So an American (recognized as being a Christian Nation) ceases to be an
American if he becomes a Moslem ? Such is non-sense to the inth degree, not
only that, it is extreamly *biased*
But he did that, yet he claims that he can be both Jewish and Christian.
Unless I give up being a Christian, I can't be anything else *but* a
Christian Jew.
No matter how he denies claiming to be Jewish,
Where have I denied being Jewish ?
that's what he does, and he thus sows the seeds of confusion.
You are the one confused.
By doing so he willingly allows people to believe that one can be Jewish
and still pray to Jesus of Nazareth.
We can, I pray through Jesus often.
That is an outright lie,
No, it isn't.
and he misrepresents himself and slanders Judaism every time he does it.
My being a Christian-Jew not only doesn't slander Judaism, it also has
*nothing* to do with Judaism...
Again
Judaism = religion
Jew = bloodline
One has *nothing* to do with the other, most of the world knows this... It
is only crackpots like yourself who have problems with it.
I just don't let him weasel out of it.
There is nothing for me to "weasel out of"
HTH.
And I would also like to know who you are... Are you a Christian?
No, I am Jewish. The real thing, the genuine article. My mother is Jewish
and I have done nothing to publicly repudiate my religion.
Only Christians can be Americans, dontcha know :-)

In the first place, America is not a "Christian nation". In the second,
being "American" is a matter of nationality; one can have twenty generations
of Chinese or Italian or Scottish heritage, and still become "American"
through a comparatively brief bureaucratic process.
But he did that, yet he claims that he can be both Jewish and Christian.

separate out the various elements and *does* assume that the one has
everything to do with the other.
Cactus is right, you are taking advantage of the confusion to present
yourself as a "Christian Jew", when there ain't no such animal. And you're
now muddying the waters further by associating nationality with religion.
You can have an American Muslim, or a English Christian, or a Spanish
Wiccan, because American, English and Spanish are not and have never been
*religious* descriptors. The same cannot be said for "Jewish", and you're
well aware of this.
