Under such conditions, materially and spiritually, the
summer of 1914 was approached. Then suddenly, almost without
warning, World War I became an actuality. It was called the
Great War and it inaugurated an epoch of conflict that was
to continue throughout the ensuing decades. Peace was
literally taken from the earth.
Almost 100 years have passed since Germany sent her armed
forces marching through Belgium, when she moved against
France. From that day to this, the world has not know the
blessings of peace. World War II followed twenty-five years
later and, after another 50 years the world appears to be
headed for what has already been alluded to as World War
III.
The tendency, however, to view each war as a conflict in
itself, completely independent of the others, is erroneous.
Actually the designations given the conflicts following the
"Great War" have been more correct than generally realized.
It has indeed been a continuing great, worldwide war,
divided into Phase I, Phase II and, in the offing, Phase
III. Interestingly enough, the Korean conflict was never
officially called a war. It was a "police action" under the
aegis of the United Nations. Again, the engagement with
North Vietnam was defined in official circles in our
government, not as a war, but as "a matter of collective
defense" against armed aggression.
There has been, nevertheless, an overall pattern of global
contest being waged from the inception of World War I in
1914, which will climax in the final phase of battle,
involving the entire world as the forces of evil make their
last, desperate move to seize world control. Such a goal
stimulated the Kaiser in his campaign in 1914 and impelled
Hitler to strike in 1939. The same spirit of world
domination actuates the Jews as they pursue their plans to
exert supreme control over all the nations of the earth.
Three Satanic Ideologies
Before the end of World War I, Communism (former chief
rabbi of the United States, Stephen F. Wise stated: "Some
call it Communism; I call it Judaism") came to power in
Soviet Russia and the throne of the czars was overthrown.
Following the close of World War I, Fascism was established
in Italy and Nazism began to come to power in Germany. Thus,
the first world war, and its aftermath, brought out into the
open the forces which were to be in opposition to God and
His Kingdom people. In the Book of Revelation they are
designated as three unclean spirits:
Revelation 16:13-14
13: And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of
the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast,
and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14: For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles,
which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole
world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God
Almighty.
While World War I revealed the identity of the enemies of
God and His Kingdom, it remained for World War II to destroy
the power of two of the evil ideologies: Fascism and Nazism.
One remains; World Communism, constituting the
arch-contender for world dominion in the final phase of
conflict.
The Judgment Set
When, by Divine edict, God passed judgment upon His people
Israel for their sins, and assigned Seven Times (2520 years)
of chastisement to them. He also allotted that some number
of years as the period during which He would permit the
Gentiles to exercise dominion upon the earth. King
Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was the first of the Gentile
emperors to rule under this interim charter to govern, for
his was the first of the Babylonian Succession of Empires.
Thereafter God could not move against Gentile misrule until
the time He had given to the Gentiles had expired.
However, it would appear that the Time of the Gentiles
began to expire with the beginning of World War I. Following
that, God was free to act in reprisal against the despotic
nations and this transfer of hegemony was marked by the
progressive overthrow of governments as the result of World
War I. The Prophet Daniel was given a spectacular vision of
this great epoch of change:
"I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient
of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the
hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the
fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream
issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands
ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand
stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were
opened." (Daniel 7:9-10)
Following this, Daniel beheld another equally marvelous
sight:
"I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son
of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the
Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And
there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that
all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his
dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass
away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."
(Daniel 7:13-14)
A third prophetic vision was given to Daniel and when he
had been informed about all that was involved in its
fulfillment, he knew he had been told what "the end of the
matter" would be. The prophet stated:
"I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and
prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and
judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the
time came that the saints possessed the kingdom." (Daniel
7:21-22)
The Aggressor's Goal
When it is realized that, from the day Kaiser William
ordered his troops to invade Belgium in August 1914, the
goal of the aggressor has been world domination, it enlarges
the scope of our understanding of the meaning of the time in
which we are living. Devil-inspired forces are stirring up
the nations to move in aggression against the modern Israel
peoples, and foment internal disruption of every sort within
their lands, in order to prevent the fulfillment of the
promise given through the Prophet Daniel:
"And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the
kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people
of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an
everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey
him." (Daniel 7:27)
The last 75 years have witnessed the literal fulfillment of
the prophecy of the Psalmist:
"The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take
counsel together, against the LORD, and against his
anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast
away their cords from us." (Psalm 2:2-3)
Daniel foresaw the Ancient of Days sitting upon His throne,
before whom thousands upon thousands ministered and, as he
watched, he learned how the enemies of God were dealt with
in order to make ready for the restoration of His Kingdom
upon the earth. No wonder the Psalmist could exclaim:
"He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall
have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his
wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure." (Psalm 2:4-5)
