The Height of God's Mercy |
Exodus 25:17-22
Nothing is God's word is minuscule, nor unnecessary, amen?
And sometimes it is what is not found in the Bible, that is
of great interest. :)
When we read our Bibles, we can see that the mercy seat
is specified and went on top of the Ark of the Covenant.
The Ark of the Covenant did contain the Ten Commandments.
But what is interesting, is that on top of them, was the
mercy seat of God and the first thing seen, is the mercy seat.
Unless someone can prove me to be in error about this,
I remember seeing the its length and its breadth. But I
do not recall seeing its height. That's an interesting thing
to leave out, isn't it?
God knows what He's doing and so, we must believe that
this measurement was left out on purpose. Let us read
another Scripture...
"He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him."
- Psalm 103:10-11
How can we measure the height of God's mercy, when
it extends all the way up to the heavens and certainly,
to Heaven itself? And this is where the true Temple is
and which is where Christ went upon His ascension to
present Himself as the perfect one time offering for
our sins and then took His seat on His throne, ruling
the nations.
Hebrews 9:11-12,23-24
11) But Christ being come a high priest of good things
to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle,
not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his
own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having
obtained eternal redemption for us.
23) It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things
in the heavens should be purified with these; but the
heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24) For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with
hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven
itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
Surely there is a width to God's mercy. The mercy seat
had this dimension and so, we may say that God's mercy
is as wide as all those who present themselves in front
of the mercy seat, in Christ Jesus. But for those who do,
His mercy extends all the way up to Heaven and is therefore,
without measure! Unless we seek to put a measurement
on Heaven? Not me! :)

People are so afraid to reject doctrine, that they just
don't give a damn what the Bible actually says! Sad!

Is this the same Ark that when a guy tried to keep it from falling, he was
instantly struck dead for touching it? Yeah, some mercy.
