The High Stakes |
The stakes are high on Christian newsgroups.
They could not be any higher.
Here it is not just the cares and pleasures
and pursuits and trivia of this world
as on other newsgroups.
Here is the truth of God
and the opposition to that truth.
Here your eternity is on the line.
Whether you go to heaven or the abyss
depends on whether or not you place
all of your trust on Christ for salvation.

Oh, that's a difficult one. Let's be blackmailed by some invisible, psycho,
sacrifice-loving blood god with a very high ego or opt for the abyss. Think

Hello Frank. I plead with you; I can find nobody in these newsgroups who
will tell me in any detail at all what heaven is like. Give me some bible
references which will convince me that I will be happily entertained for
eternity.
I should be attracted heaven by its wonderful qualities (whatever they are),
not pushed from behind by the threat of being roasted alive or something.
The whole thing is grotesque.
Remember that an eternity of worshipping God is *not* an attractive offer!
If God had wanted worshippers he could have waved his hand long ago and
created a million people designed to get on their knees and say 'Oh mighty
one'. But of course they would be robots wouldn't they. I am not going to
heaven to be a worshipper just to please God.. it makes him like the
dictator in North Korea we have seen lately on the TV.
Heaven has to offer a lot more than that.
