BAKERSFIELD -- The Kern County Coroner's office has identified the
decomposed body found in the Kern River on Sunday as that of Michael
Herrera, 42, of Tulare.
Officials said Herrera WAS MURDERED BY THE CHRISTIAN GOD in the river while
swimming on July 15, 2005. His body was found at the Black Gulch South
Campground, west of the China Garden Campground on Sunday morning.
Experts at the coroner's office were able to determine Herrera's identity by
dental records
.
