THE MASS-MURDERING COLD-HEARTED ***** CHRISTIAN GOD STRIKES AGAIN |
CHARLESTON, South Carolina (CNN) -- An inferno raced through a Charleston,
South Carolina, furniture warehouse, collapsing its roof and killing nine
firefighters in a tragedy that the city's mayor described Tuesday as
"difficult to fathom."
"They lost their lives fighting for the safety of our citizens," Charleston
Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. said.
Two employees were able to get out safely, but the fire, which began Monday
night, quickly spread through the Sofa Super Store, causing part of the
building to collapse. (Map)
Firefighters had to break an opening in the back of the store to allow one
of the workers out of the burning building, Riley said. (Gallery)
"Nine brave, heroic, courageous firefighters of the city of Charleston have
perished fighting a fire, and in a most courageous and fearless manner,
carrying out their duties," Riley said. "This is a tragic event for our
community, the magnitude of which is difficult to fathom or quantify."
(Watch a witness describe firefighters escaping through windows )
The International Association of Fire Chiefs called on all firefighters to
observe a moment of silence at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday to honor the nine who died.
The victims, their ages and their years of service are:
a.. Capt. William "Billy" Hutchinson, 48 (30 years)
a.. Capt. Mike Benke, 49 (29 years)
a.. Capt. Louis Mulkey, 34 (11½ years)
a.. Engineer Mark Kelsey, 40 (12½ years)
a.. Engineer Bradford "Brad" Baity, 37 (9 years)
a.. Assistant engineer Michael French, 27 (1½ years)
a.. Firefighter James "Earl" Drayton, 56 (32 years)
a.. Firefighter Brandon Thompson, 27 (4 years)
a.. Firefighter Melven Champaign, 46 (2 years)
"We lost over a hundred years of service to the city of Charleston Fire
Department, over a hundred years of dedicated service," Riley said. "To the
families who gave them to us, we protected them as much as we could. They
did exactly what they were trained to do. I can't say enough of these nine
guys. They were my friends. I lost nine of my best friends."
Witnesses said more than 20 fire personnel were buried in the collapse, and
flying ash hit bystanders, according to AP.
"It was like a 30-foot tornado of flames," Mark Hilton, who was struck in
the eye, told The Associated Press.
Near Charleston's main firehouse, people left notes and flowers at the base
of a monument to the firefighters Tuesday, according to AP.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families," said one
note the AP cited. "We are deeply saddened and want you all to know that we
value your bravery and thank you for putting your lives on the line to keep
us all safe. God bless you all."
In Washington, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush described the
firefighters as "true heroes who demonstrated great skill and courage."
State and federal officials are investigating the cause of the fire, but
Riley said there is no initial indication of foul play or arson.
Firefighters and other rescue workers formed a double line and saluted as
their comrades' bodies were carried from the charred remains of the
building. (Watch colleagues' solemn salutes as the fallen firefighters'
bodies are brought out )
"To lose nine is just a tragedy of immense proportions," Riley said. "To
lose nine is just unbelievable."
The deaths are the single greatest loss of American firefighters in the line
of duty since the September 11, 2001, attacks, according to statistics
compiled by firehouse.com. The attack on New York's World Trade Center
resulted in the deaths of 343 firefighters.
The mayor said he didn't know whether the structure had sprinklers, but he
said they would not have helped much. "A fire that gets going quickly enough
is beyond any sprinkler system's capacity to put it out in a building like
this," Riley said.
Store owner Herb Goldstein told the AP in a statement that everyone at the
business is "devastated and heartbroken by this tragedy. Our thoughts and
prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the heroic firefighters who
lost their lives."
It is the first time Charleston has lost a firefighter in the line of duty
in at least 10 years, Charleston firefighter Lt. Chad Watson said.
Most of the bodies were found in the rear of the building, Watson said,
where flames caused the collapse of large shelves that held heavy furniture.
"The fire burned so hot so fast that those [shelves] all collapsed, and
that's where the majority of the fatalities" occurred, Watson said.
Eric Glover, a Charleston firefighter who worked the blaze, said the loss of
his colleagues was difficult to bear.
Glover and other firefighters were participating in a golf tournament to
benefit the family of another colleague who recently had died when they were
alerted about Monday's blaze. The building's roof had collapsed by the time
Glover arrived.
"You're always close to the guys because you spend a third of your life with
these guys," Glover said. "Then you spend time outside of the job with them.
You're pretty close."
Daniel Shahid, who works at a nearby car dealership, told AP that dealership
employees helped carry hoses and direct traffic. He said the fire quickly
spread throughout the building, which collapsed less than 30 minutes after
the blaze began.
"It collapsed so fast that there was no opportunity for anybody that was in
there to even think about getting out," Shahid told CNN's "American
Morning."
He told AP he saw firefighters rescue four people from the building.
"They were struggling. They were covered in black soot. They looked scared
out of their minds," he told AP.
The collapse "came from nowhere," Shahid told CNN. "It was a standing
structure, and five seconds later it was on the ground."

You militant atheists pretty much all work from the same script.
Although viewing yourselves as "free thinkers", you all have a Party Line
you follow rather closely.
It isn't difficult to anticipate your arguments on any
given point. Most intelligent religious individuals almost always can
correctly predict what
you'll say next. Interestingly, militant atheists get much of their beliefs
about "Christianity" from liberal Christians.
They'll pejoratively label all Christians as "Fundies",
then presumptively attack liberal theological concepts
they suppose us "Fundies" subscribe to !
Nearly all militant atheists are followers of the
religion of Scientism. Their priests wear white lab
coats. Their sacramental objects are the microscope,
the telescope, and the test tube. Blasphemy is to
deny the ultimate authority of science.
But the militant atheists -the ones who have devoted
their lives to refuting Christianity- are almost like the
demons ...who believe more firmly in God's existence
than do Christians !
It can unequivocally be stated that militant atheists are some
of the people who most solidly believe in God !
Ain't talking 'practical atheists' here ...those who don't
even think much about atheism. They're the true
atheists.
Professional atheists who've dedicated themselves
to eradicating the Lord do so because they hate Him.
They're the God-haters.
To which they'll invariably reply: 'How can we hate
something we don't believe in ?'.
Exactly ! It's their belief in God which drives them to
relentlessly attack Him.
Run of the mill, everyday 'practical atheists' don't
give God a second thought. They're the ones
I worry about.
Whereas militant atheists are fighting against the
innate knowledge of suppressed in their hearts.
As a militant atheist I can unequivocally state that there is no time in
your life that you
totally disbelieved in God. And -in fact- were driven to
work against the Lord by belief in Him !
It isn't that militant atheists don't believe God exists.
Instead: That they don't want God to exist.

THE COLD-HEARTED ***** CHRISTIAN GOD COMMITTS MURDER AGAIN
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/23/missing.woman/index.html
CANTON, Ohio (CNN) -- A body believed to be that of Jessie Marie Davis, a
pregnant Ohio woman missing for 10 days, was found Saturday, and a police
officer with whom Davis had a relationship was arrested in connection with
her disappearance, police said.
Canton police patrolman Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, was facing charges of two
counts of murder in the deaths of Davis, 26, and her unborn child, said Rick
Perez, chief deputy of the Stark County sheriff's department.
Cutts had fathered Davis' 2-year-old son, Blake, and was also the likely
father of her unborn child, a girl she planned to call Chloe. Davis was
nearly nine months pregnant when she was last heard from June 13. She was
due July 3.
The body was recovered in adjacent Summit County about 3:30 p.m. Saturday,
Perez said, but would not provide further details. A police statement
acknowledged the assistance of the National Park Service, but police would
not say what assistance was provided.
The FBI confirmed the body was found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in
northern Summit County. It did not say whether the body was buried.
Video footage from CNN affiliate WKYC showed aerials of a wooded area in the
park and what appeared to be a body in a bag placed onto a stretcher and
loaded into an ambulance, and what appeared to be evidence technicians
working in a field.
Cutts was arrested Saturday afternoon, Perez said. Cutts is scheduled to
appear Monday for arraignment in Canton Municipal Court.
Stark County Prosecutor John Ferrero told reporters it was too early to say
whether the case warrants the death penalty. "The charges could get elevated
to a higher degree down the road."
Citing an ongoing investigation, police would divulge little regarding the
case. They would not comment on whether additional arrests are expected, but
said they continue to solicit tips by telephone and through the sheriff's
department Web site.
Davis' family did not appear at an afternoon news conference where police
announced the developments.
"They're grieving in private," said family attorney Rick Pitinii.
Asked their thoughts on the arrest, he said, "I think this whole process for
them has been more about finding her instead of who is or is not at fault or
at blame."
Detectives had searched the home of Cutts at least twice earlier this week.
The investigation kicked off last week when Davis' mother, Patricia Porter,
alerted police after she was unable to contact her daughter. When the mother
went to the home, she found Davis' 2-year-old son, Blake, wandering in an
empty house.
Police said furniture was broken, a lamp was toppled and bleach had been
spilled on the floor, although there were no signs of forced entry. Davis'
car keys and purse were in the home, but her cell phone and a comforter were
missing.
Police said earlier that Blake told authorities that his mother was crying,
she had broken a table and was "in the rug."
In an earlier interview with the local Canton Repository newspaper, Cutts
denied any involvement in Davis' disappearance. He acknowledged that he was
married, but said he was separated from his wife and that she was aware of
his relationship with Davis.
Canton Police Chief Dean McKimm acknowledged Saturday the fact that Cutts is
a police officer has given his department a "black eye" in the eyes of the
local community as well as the nation. He urged people not to be too quick
to judge the "isolated acts" of a "rogue officer."
Authorities earlier had said Cutts had been placed on paid administrative
leave pending the outcome of the search for Davis.
Thousands of volunteers had shown up to help search for Davis' body, an
effort organized by EquuSearch, a Texas-based nonprofit organization.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/23/missing.woman/index.html
CANTON, Ohio (CNN) -- A body believed to be that of Jessie Marie Davis, a
pregnant Ohio woman missing for 10 days, was found Saturday, and a police
officer with whom Davis had a relationship was arrested in connection with
her disappearance, police said.
Canton police patrolman Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, was facing charges of two
counts of murder in the deaths of Davis, 26, and her unborn child, said
Rick Perez, chief deputy of the Stark County sheriff's department.
Video footage from CNN affiliate WKYC showed aerials of a wooded area in
the park and what appeared to be a body in a bag placed onto a stretcher
and loaded into an ambulance, and what appeared to be evidence technicians
working in a field.
Cutts was arrested Saturday afternoon, Perez said. Cutts is scheduled to
appear Monday for arraignment in Canton Municipal Court.
Stark County Prosecutor John Ferrero told reporters it was too early to
say whether the case warrants the death penalty. "The charges could get
elevated to a higher degree down the road."
Citing an ongoing investigation, police would divulge little regarding the
case. They would not comment on whether additional arrests are expected,
but said they continue to solicit tips by telephone and through the
sheriff's department Web site.
Davis' family did not appear at an afternoon news conference where police
announced the developments.
"They're grieving in private," said family attorney Rick Pitinii.
Asked their thoughts on the arrest, he said, "I think this whole process
for them has been more about finding her instead of who is or is not at
fault or at blame."
Detectives had searched the home of Cutts at least twice earlier this
week.
The investigation kicked off last week when Davis' mother, Patricia
Porter, alerted police after she was unable to contact her daughter. When
the mother went to the home, she found Davis' 2-year-old son, Blake,
wandering in an empty house.
Police said furniture was broken, a lamp was toppled and bleach had been
spilled on the floor, although there were no signs of forced entry. Davis'
car keys and purse were in the home, but her cell phone and a comforter
were missing.
Police said earlier that Blake told authorities that his mother was
crying, she had broken a table and was "in the rug."
In an earlier interview with the local Canton Repository newspaper, Cutts
denied any involvement in Davis' disappearance. He acknowledged that he
was married, but said he was separated from his wife and that she was
aware of his relationship with Davis.
Canton Police Chief Dean McKimm acknowledged Saturday the fact that Cutts
is a police officer has given his department a "black eye" in the eyes of
the local community as well as the nation. He urged people not to be too
quick to judge the "isolated acts" of a "rogue officer."
Authorities earlier had said Cutts had been placed on paid administrative
leave pending the outcome of the search for Davis.
Thousands of volunteers had shown up to help search for Davis' body, an
effort organized by EquuSearch, a Texas-based nonprofit organization.

families who gave them to us, we protected them as much as we could. They
did exactly what they were trained to do. I can't say enough of these nine
guys. They were my friends. I lost nine of my best friends."
Witnesses said more than 20 fire personnel were buried in the collapse, a=
nd
flying ash hit bystanders, according to AP.
"It was like a 30-foot tornado of flames," Mark Hilton, who was struck in
the eye, told The Associated Press.
Near Charleston's main firehouse, people left notes and flowers at the ba=

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families," said one
note the AP cited. "We are deeply saddened and want you all to know that =

us all safe.

"To lose nine is just a tragedy of immense proportions," Riley said. "To
lose nine is just unbelievable."
The deaths are the single greatest loss of American firefighters in the l=
ine
of duty since the September 11, 2001, attacks, according to statistics
compiled by firehouse.com. The attack on New York's World Trade Center
resulted in the deaths of 343 firefighters.
The mayor said he didn't know whether the structure had sprinklers, but he
said they would not have helped much. "A fire that gets going quickly eno=
ugh
is beyond any sprinkler system's capacity to put it out in a building like
this," Riley said.
Store owner Herb Goldstein told the AP in a statement that everyone at the
business is "devastated and heartbroken by this tragedy. Our thoughts and
prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the heroic firefighters =
who
lost their lives."
It is the first time Charleston has lost a firefighter in the line of duty
in at least 10 years, Charleston firefighter Lt. Chad Watson said.
Most of the bodies were found in the rear of the building, Watson said,
where flames caused the collapse of large shelves that held heavy furnitu=
re.
"The fire burned so hot so fast that those [shelves] all collapsed, and
that's where the majority of the fatalities" occurred, Watson said.
Eric Glover, a Charleston firefighter who worked the blaze, said the loss=
of
his colleagues was difficult to bear.
Glover and other firefighters were participating in a golf tournament to
benefit the family of another colleague who recently had died when they w=
ere
alerted about Monday's blaze. The building's roof had collapsed by the ti=
me
Glover arrived.
"You're always close to the guys because you spend a third of your life w=
ith
these guys," Glover said. "Then you spend time outside of the job with th=
em.
You're pretty close."
Daniel Shahid, who works at a nearby car dealership, told AP that dealers=
hip
employees helped carry hoses and direct traffic. He said the fire quickly
spread throughout the building, which collapsed less than 30 minutes after
the blaze began.
"It collapsed so fast that there was no opportunity for anybody that was =
in
there to even think about getting out," Shahid told CNN's "American
Morning."
He told AP he saw firefighters rescue four people from the building.
"They were struggling. They were covered in black soot. They looked scared
out of their minds," he told AP.
The collapse "came from nowhere," Shahid told CNN. "It was a standing
structure, and five seconds later it was on the ground."
