THE CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS
The trinity is not theory
To read the Bible in one year, today read: 2 Chronicles 7-9
To Know:
³He was in the beginning with God.² (Jn. 1:2)
Islam teaches that Christians believe in three Gods. Moslems believe that
Christians believe in Tri-theism and not trinity. The heart and soul of
Islam is belief in one God. Islam is monotheistic. Actually Christians are
monotheists too. Our Bible includes the Torah (Old Testament) which
declares, ³Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord² (Deut. 6:4) We
however believe that God is one and is relational. John begins his gospel by
pointing to complexity in God. The true and living God is eternally
relational. Some theorize that God created us because he was lonely. Not so.
The Father, Son, and Spirit comprise the eternal God. The Father has
eternally loved the Son and the Son forever loved the Father and the Holy
Spirit has always proceeded from the Father and the Son. When Islam treats
Jesus as a mere human being they make a desperate error. As the words of one
hymn of the faith say, ³The great creator became my Savior²
Christians must understand the vital importance of the doctrine of the
trinity. The Trinitarian nature of God is not a theological theory. Islam
and liberal Christians are those that theorize when they oppose Trinitarian
claims. Both Islam and liberal Christians refuse to believe Jesus claim to
be God. The trinity is not theory. It is Islam and liberal Christianity who
theorize when they insist on the impossibility of trinity. We learn about
the trinity from the triune God himself. It is God who revealed himself to
be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Hello rhuff:
Neither side of this issue has convinced the other, even though the
debate has been going on for centuries, so maybe it is time to look at
the trinity with some Godly logic.
The opposite, or lack, of logic, is chaos, and God is not the author of
confusion, so He is logical.
If God is omnipresent, and the Holy Spirit is God, then why did Jesus
have to send the Holy Spirit, and why did the disciples have to wait
for Him, when He was already there?
If the Father sent Jesus, and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, then it
appears that there is a hierarchy in the Godhead, but was the Holy
Spirit subservient to Jesus before the Father gave Jesus all the power?
When the Father gave Jesus all the power, was the Father retiring and
promoting Jesus?
If the Holy Spirit is omnipresent, then why is He only present in
churches sometimes, and He has to be prayed for, to come?
If the Holy Spirit is omnipresent, shouldn't everyone always exhibit
the gifts and the fruits of the spirit?
If God is a spirit, and the Holy Spirit is a spirit, does that mean
that the Father and Jesus are the same spirit as the Holy Spirit?
If the whole Godhead is the same spirit(God is a spirit) then just what
is the difference between the Father and the Holy Spirit?
If Jesus sits at God's right hand, where does the Holy Spirit sit?
