Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you |
"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and
shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations
for my name's sake.
|
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one
another, and shall hate one another. And many false
prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And
because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall
wax cold.
|
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall
be saved" (Matthew 24:9-13).
"He that received the seed into stony places, the
same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy
receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but
dureth for a while, for when tribulation or
persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by
he is offended" (Matthew 13:20-21).
"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery
trial which is to try you, as though some strange
thing happened unto you, but rejoice, inasmuch as ye
are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his
glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with
exceeding joy" (1 Peter 4:12-13).
"Here is the patience and the faith of the saints"
(Revelation 13:10).
"Here is the patience of the saints, here are they
that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of
Jesus.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me,
Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord
from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they
may rest from their labours, and their works do
follow them" (Revelation 14:12-13).

Read The Bible wrote:
"Then shall they deliver [you] up to be afflicted, and shall kill [you], and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
When Jesus said "you", who was He speaking to?
"And Jesus answered and said unto <strong>them</strong>"
His Apostles. Not every single Christian. Not "you". And its true,
they are all afflicted and killed.
Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, [This generation] shall not pass,
till all these things be fulfilled.
Jesus also suffered many things and was rejected by His generation.
Jesus said "this generation" many times in many different ways, not
just once. When Jesus said "this generation", He was speaking of His
generation. Is that such a stretch?
(Luke 17:25) But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of
[this generation].
This is a big reason why:
(Luke 11:50-51) That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from
the foundation of the world, may be required of [this generation]; From
the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between
the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required
of [this generation].
Why His generation?
[Isaiah 53:7-8] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened
not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a
sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for [his
generation], who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the
living, stricken for the transgression of my people?
[Acts 8:33] In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe
[his generation]? For his life is taken away from the earth...
Jesus was rejected by [ His generation ], the generation of the first
century. When Jesus said "This generation", more than 10 times, He was
speaking of His generation. That is the gospel truth. Jesus spoke of
His generation almost 25 times saying just "generation" as well. Jesus
even spoke of His generation in many PARABLES too, often times, almost
everytime, the parables were about the Pharisees, and they knew it.
This was the condemnation of His generation:
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil.
Jesus said:
(Luk 21:22) for [these] are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is
written.
Jesus did not say this yesterday.
I am against those who tell the sheep a wolf is coming, and are lying.

Warhol said on Jan 1, 3:35 am [Re: Mt. 24:9]:
Saddam died for Gods sake
Do you mean for Allah's sake? If so, are some Iraqi
Sunnis claiming that? What do Iraqi Shiites think?
Mt. 24:9 refers to a future time when Christians who
remain faithful to what Jesus taught will be hated
and killed in all nations. This will happen after
1/4 of the world dies in a grievous war and its
aftermath of famine and epidemic (Rev. 6:4-11). This
could be the war of Dan. 11:13-18, which could be
when an Iraq re-armed by the U.S. (to conquer Iran)
could turn and attack Israel instead. Israel could
employ its nuclear weapons in its defense, and the
radioactive fallout could eventually bring about the
death of 1.5 billion people living to the east,
from Jordan to India and beyond.
The ostensible casus belli for an Iraqi invasion of
Israel could be the destruction of the Dome of the
Rock by a Jewish or Christian zealot hoping to
"hasten the rebuilding of the temple and the coming
of the Messiah". This would ignite an Islamic jihad
to wreak total vengeance on Israel. (The real,
unspoken reason for the invasion of Israel could be
an Iraqi Baathist general's desire to bring about an
"Arab Renaissance" by "first cleansing the Arab
lands from the vile Crusader hegemony in Palestine,
and the other U.S. puppet-regimes in Egypt, Jordan,
and Lebanon".)
Because the war with its unprecedented death-toll
would be publicly viewed as being caused by nothing
other than "stupid religious extremists on all
sides", the world could come together and completely
ban all "fundamentalist" religions that "preach
hatred for faiths other than their own". This would
include fundamentalist Christianity for claiming
that Jesus is the only way to God (Jn. 14:6, Act.
4:12), and "hatefully consigning all non-Christians
to an eternal hellfire" (cf. e.g. Jn. 3:36, Rev.
14:10). Any fundamentalist Christian who refused to
renounce such "vile doctrines" could be arrested and
"reasoned with" under "persuasive" conditions "(but
not torture)", such as being deprived of all sleep,
food, and water. Those who remained defiant even in
their delirium, or who regained their defiance after
recovering from it, would be put to death as "vile
enemies of mankind, the likes of which this world
can no longer afford to harbor".
Warhol said [Re: Mt. 24:9]: this gospel speaks
about the beloved one killed cowardly by monster
Are you claiming that the Christian gospel of
Matthew speaks about the Muslim Saddam? If so, know
instead that the "beloved" one killed in the gospel
is not anyone other than Jesus Christ of Nazareth,
the Son of God (Mt. 3:17, 12:18, 17:5), who died for
our sins (Mt. 26:28) and rose from the dead on the
3rd day (Mt. 20:19, 28:5-7). This is the only saving
gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4, Gal. 1:4-9).
Warhol said: Oh Lord
Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour (Acts 16:31,
Rom. 6:23, 10:9).
Warhol said: and what follows is NEAR ... and
CometH
Did you spell "CometH" like that to refer to an
approaching "comet" striking the earth, as in Rev.
8:10-11. If not, what are you referring to?
Warhol said [Re: Rev. 13:10]: This a great Warning
that the Saints will get angry
What "saints" are you referring to? While Christian
saints can get angry temporarily (Eph. 4:26), Rev.
13:10 refers to them patiently suffering and dying
under the coming Antichrist (Rev. 13:7).
Warhol said [Re: Rev. 14:12-13]: Cometh of Jesus
What do you mean by this? For Christians, Rev.
14:12-13 indeed comes from Jesus, for all of
Revelation comes from Jesus (Rev. 1:1, 22:16).
Warhol said: The birth of a Maccabee at the age of
44 years... The Sun of Man from the Saint
Family... The Brother of Hussein... The Light
Warrior Hassan.
Do all of these statements refer to the same person?
If so, is it the Shiite-revered Hasan, the son of
Ali, who died mysteriously in 669, and who was the
brother of Hussein, killed at Kerbala in 680? If so,
how could he have been a Maccabee, when that refers
to a Jewish family of the 2nd century BC? Or are
you using "Maccabee" in the sense of its meaning of
"hammerer" or "extinguisher"? And what do you mean
by him being "born" a Maccabee at the age of 44? Do
you think that someone related to Saddam Hussein
will at the age of 44 arise in the spirit of the
ancient Hasan to "extinguish" those who killed
Saddam? I.e. to make total war against the West and
those he sees as Western puppet-regimes in the
Middle East? If so, what do you mean by the "Sun" of
Man and the "Light" Warrior? That he'll have some
new airborne laser-weapon supplied to him by the
U.S. with the intent of it being used only in an
invasion of Iran? If you don't mean any of these
things, can you explain what you said? Or must it
remain cryptic in order to retain an "august
prophetic mystery"?

Warhol said: There for man as Moses must show up
Some Christians believe Moses could indeed show up,
as he could be one of the 2 witnesses (Rev.
11:3-12), Elijah being the other. The 2 witnesses
have powers similar to those of Moses and Elijah
(Ex. 7:17, Jas. 5:17; 2 Kin. 1:10). Elijah was
taken alive into heaven (2 Kin. 2:11), and Moses'
body was recovered by Michael (Jude 9) and must have
been resuscitated, for both Moses and Elijah were
alive and well at the transfiguration (Mt. 17:3-4).
But even if Moses is one of the 2 witnesses, he
won't show up to build the 5th empire for man, but
to preach against it and its emperor, as it will be
the world empire of the beast, the Antichrist (Rev.
13:7-8), who will kill the 2 witnesses (Rev. 11:7).
Warhol said: the fourth Empire belonged to the
prophet of Islam Mohammed
The 4th empire of Dan. 2:32-33 was ancient Rome.
But the Empire of Islam could be the 7th empire of
Rev. 17:10, which followed the Roman empire, for
the Roman empire was the 6th empire, which was in
the time of John, and which was after 5 fallen
empires (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece).
The Antichrist's 8th empire with its 10 kings (Rev.
17:11-14) "shall arise" "out of" the area of the
former Roman empire (Dan. 7:24), which included
not only western Europe, but also the Middle East
and North Africa; i.e. the 8th empire will be a
union of the European nations with the Arab nations
and Turkey into one massive confederation. With
Arab oil and European industry and finance (e.g.
Euro), it will be quite formidable.
Warhol said: Ar Zina... is beautyfull land
The "beautiful" (or "glorious") land is Israel,
which will be "consumed" in the future war of
Dan. 11:16, after which the Antichrist will arise
on the world scene to make a peace treaty with
Israel (Dan. 9:27, 11:23), only to subsequently
"overthrow" that "beautiful" (or "glorious") land
himself (Dan. 11:41,44,45).
Warhol said [Re: "Ar Zina"]: is located in the
Maghreb
"Maghreb" or "Maghrib" is Arabic for "west", i.e.
western North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and
sometimes Libya and Egypt; even Spain was included
from the 8th to the 15th centuries). Is this the
region you expect the next empire to be located in,
or do you define Maghreb differently? And do you
think the next empire will be limited to the
Maghreb, or do you just see that as its heart?

Good post.
The Affliction described by Jesus in Mat 24 9-13 IS about this
generation.
Luke recorded the warning about the Affliction of the First Century
Christians.
Luke 21:12-23.
The prophecy in Luke 212:24 has been fulfilled.
The Nations which once were Rome are becoming Rome Again.
This Affliction is next -- and it is soon.
THE AFFLICTION
When modern Rome rises to power, that event will include the use of
nuclear weapons, and will begin the Affliction of God's People. Mat
24:9-14. This is the first half of Daniel's 70th week. Dan 9:27.
THE TRIBULATION
About 3 1/2 years after Modern Rome comes to rule the Modern World,
Satan will proclaim himself to be "God," and will begin to murder
Christians who refuse to worship Him. (2 Thes 2:4, Rev 13:6-15) Those
events will mark the midst of Daniel's 70'th Week. Then, after Three
and a half years of terror, war and destruction, while God pours out
the vials of His Wrath on the Beast's Kingdom, The End will come. Mat
24:29-31.
WE WILL BE CAUGHT UP
When the Lord comes he will bring those who were resurrected in the
First Resurrection with Him, (1 Thes 4:14-17, Rev 20:4) and those of us
who remain alive in the hills around Jerusalem will be transformed (Mat
24:15-16, 1 Cor 15:50-54) and the dead will be resurrected. (Rev
11:7-15, 18) We who remain and we who are resurrected will rise to meet
the Lord and the First Century Saints who come with him. (Mat 24:31,
Rev 14:1-5, 14-17)
ARMAGEDDON
Satan and his armies will be defeated, and, with the false prophets and
those who rejected God and His Son, will be cast into the lake of fire.
(Rev 14:18-20, 19:11-21, 20:9-15) This earth and the physical universe
will be destroyed in fervent heat, and we the saved will inherit the
new heaven and earth (2 Peter 3:3-12, Rev 21:1-7 et al) ON THE SAME
DAY, THAT DAY, THE DAY OF THE LORD!
This generation shall not all pass away until all the prophecy of the
coming of the Lord is finished.
In the words of John, "Even so, Lord, Come."

Mat 24 9-13 IS about this generation.
It could be, especially if Matthew 24:32-34 includes
a reference to the temporal generation that would
see the re-establishment of the nation of Israel.
The rebudding of the fig tree in Matthew 24:32 could
include a reference to the re-establishment of
Israel, as Israel is compared to a fig tree in Hosea
9:10.
If a temporal generation usually passes away after
70 years, as in Psalm 90:10; and if the fig tree
rebudded with the UN Resolution of 1947 re-
establishing the nation of Israel; then everything
in Matthew 24 would have to be fulfilled before 2017.
Even though it hasn't been fulfilled yet, Matthew 24
would still be for those who heard Jesus speak it in
the 1st century, for all scripture is for all
believers of all times. See Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy
3:16-17.
There's no "us versus them"; all believers of all
times are one in the body of Christ. See John
17:20-21.
oldwetdog said on Dec 9, 11:14 am:
When modern Rome rises to power...
The modern Roman Empire may emulate the ancient
Roman Empire, which included not only western
Europe, but all of north Africa and the Middle East.
The ten toes, ten horns, ten kings of Daniel 2:42,
Daniel 7:24, Revelation 17:12 may picture the ten
most powerful nations within the former territory of
the ancient Roman Empire which will exist at the
time of the Antichrist. For example, the toes on
the European foot could be Germany, Britain, France,
Italy, Spain; while the toes on the other foot could
be Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, and Algeria.
Daniel 7:24 says that the Antichrist has to arise
from a nation diverse from the 10, and begin by
overthrowing 3 of them. He could arise out of
Lebanon and peaceably take over a Baathist
confederation of Iraq, Syria, and Egypt put together
by force of arms by his predecessor in Daniel
11:15-17.
Daniel 11:24 may suggest that the Antichrist will
then peaceably annex Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and
the Gulf States, sharing their oil wealth with the
poor and needy.
Eventually, he may convince the rest of the Arab
nations and even Islamic Turkey that he is a man
of peace who can recover the ancient glories of the
Arabs and the Turks and Islam, if they will only
join with him in one massive confederation of peace
and mutual economic development.
Then, with so much oil under his control, and with
such a spotless record of peacefulness, he could
sway western Europe to join in one great Union of
Peaceful States, a massive Common Market where all
can prosper together. And so a modern Roman Empire
would be born.
The "Rome" part of this empire may come in with the
next Pope, who could become the False Prophet as he
attempts to amalgamate Christianity and Islam into
one peaceful "Religion of Abraham". The two horns
of the False Prophet in Revelation 13:11 may
represent his holding two positions of power at the
same time: he could be hailed as both Pope of the
Christians and a great Imam of the Muslims.
Eventually, his syncretism could bring in all other
religions of the world as the Antichrist gains
influence over them, resulting finally in the
"revelation" that the Antichrist himself is God, as
he takes power over all nations. See Revelation
13:4-8.
The Antichrist could claim that he expresses the
Divine Christ in a Gnostic sense which would deny
that the fleshly man named Jesus of Nazareth was
himself the Christ. He could claim that the Divine
Spirit of Christ simply worked through Jesus, and
that it has now returned from heaven to work and
be worshipped through him.
In 1 John 2:22, 4:3, the Apostle John warns us
against any spirit of antichrist which would deny
that Jesus himself is the Divine Christ, that the
Divine Christ was made flesh in Jesus. See John
1:1,14.
The Antichrist may also claim, like many Gnostics
did, that the Spirit of the Divine Christ is
antithetical to the Old Testament God YHWH, who he
could claim is an evil tyrant who created the
physical universe to enslave the immortal souls of
people.
Of course, the truth is that Jesus taught what the
Old Testament taught, that YHWH is good, the true
God. See, for example, Mark 12:29-30.
The Antichrist may claim that Lucifer is the true
God, the true Spirit of the Divine Christ, the
single morning star of Isaiah 14:12 and
Revelation 22:16.
Of course, the truth is that Jesus Christ was
opposed to Lucifer's trying to claim worship as
God, knowing that the Old Testament God YHWH is the
only one to be worshipped. See Luke 4:7-8.
The fact that both Isaiah 14:12 and Revelation 22:16
refer to the morning star can therefore only mean
that one of the many things the incarnated Christ
accomplished was replacing the fallen Lucifer in the
position of morning star.
---
The Bible says that even some professed believers
will fall for the demonic lies and fables of the
Antichrist and his minions; they will depart from
the true faith of the Bible. See 1 Timothy 4:1;
2 Timothy 4:2-4.
No doubt they will do so by heeding those who say
that parts of the Bible were changed or invented by
evil men, that Jesus never really supported YHWH,
that John never really spoke against Gnosticism, etc.
Getting people to begin questioning what is or isn't
the Word of God has always been Satan's prime tactic.
He asks "Hath God said...?" and then when people
start to doubt the Word he takes it away from their
hearts. See Genesis 3:1, Luke 8:12, Mark 4:15.
And without the Word, people can be blown about this
way and that at the whim of any conniving demonic
doctrine that sounds good. Even Satan himself can
suddenly become transformed into an angel of light.
See 2 Corinthians 11:14.
These days very few people, even among Christians,
really know what the Bible itself says. The prime
way to counteract demonic lies is with the Bible.
This is why Jesus kept quoting from it when the
devil was tempting him. See Matthew 4:1-11.
The devil is going to have a field day even within
the church when the False Prophet arises and starts
out by saying there's really no innate difference
between Christianity and Islam.
Of course, the truth is that one says God has a Son
who died on the cross for our sins, while the other
says God has no Son and Jesus didn't really die
on the cross and wasn't sacrificed for our sins.
Once he's cut the heart out of Christianity, the
-False Prophet could begin ladling all the old
heresies of Gnosticism into the open mouths of
"believers", preaching another "Christ" and another
"gospel" than the Bible itself teaches, just as
people have always tried to do, and just as they've
always succeeded in finding followers even among
professed believers. See Galatians 1:6-9;
2 Corinthians 11:4; 1 Corinthians 15:1-6.

Satan will destroy the cities of the world and make
the world as a wilderness. See Isaiah 14:17.

9:10.
Well then, let's put it together, if they are the fig tree
and let us remember that He came to His own people
and He found nothing but hypocrisy and rejection of
God's way, as far as a national Judaism was concerned.
Mark 11:11-21
11) And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple:
and when he had looked round about upon all things, and
now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with
the twelve.
12) And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany,
he was hungry:
13) And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came,
if haply he might find anything thereon: and when he came
to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was
not yet.
14) And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit
of thee hereafter forever. And his disciples heard it.
15) And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the
temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought
in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers,
and the seats of them that sold doves;
16) And would not suffer that any man should carry any
vessel through the temple.
17) And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written,
My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer?
But ye have made it a den of thieves.
18) And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought
how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because
all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
19) And when even was come, he went out of the city.
20) And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw
the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21) And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him,
Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is
withered away.
And now, the speech in the Temple that came not long
after this and immediately before His discourse in
Matthew 24/Luke 21.
Matthew 23:29-38
29) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
Because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish
the sepulchers of the righteous,
30) And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers,
we would not have been partakers with them in the
blood of the prophets.
31) Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that
ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32) Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33) Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye
escape the damnation of hell?
34) Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and
wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill
and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your
synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35) That upon you may come all the righteous blood
shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel
unto the blood of Zechariah son of Barachias, whom
ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36) Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come
upon THIS GENERATION.
37) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets,
and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often
would I have gathered thy children together, even as
a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and
ye would not!
38) Behold, YOUR HOUSE [Temple] is left unto you desolate.
It was after this speech that the disciples asked their
questions in Matthew 24. It had nothing to do with
some world war, nor with thousands of years passing
and Jesus said...
"Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means
pass away till all these things take place." - Matthew 24:34
If a temporal generation usually passes away after
70 years,
A Biblical generation is 40 years and within 40 years,
the Mosaic economy was destroyed.
"And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel,
and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years,
until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight
of the LORD, was consumed." - Numbers 32:13
oldwetdog said on Dec 9, 11:14 am:
When modern Rome rises to power...
The modern Roman Empire may emulate the ancient
Roman Empire, which included not only western
Europe, but all of north Africa and the Middle East.
Nowhere does the Bible say one word about a
"modern Roman Empire", nor a "revived Roman
Empire". That is the construct of man's imagination,
based on his vain desire to make everything about
himself, which is why "a generation" always seems
to add up to whatever generation is preaching that
it's all about them. <chuckle>
Daniel 11:24 may suggest that the Antichrist will
then peaceably annex Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and
the Gulf States, sharing their oil wealth with the
poor and needy.
This is your imagination. The word "AntiChrist"
is not found anywhere in Daniel, nor are any of
the nations you mentioned.
Gee, isn't it convenient how we are told that the Bible
is REALLY talking about whatever nations happen to
be on our map, in each generation? <chuckle>
This is why atheists laugh to you! You type a completely
MADE UP scenario, which comes straight from YOUR
IMAGINATION and then you present it as if the Bible
says it and you people actually have THE GALL to
criticize others, for criticizing you! You people claim
that "they just don't understand the Bible" and that,
"they don't have the Holy Spirit and that's why they
criticize us".
The reality is, that each generation since this Futurist
nonsense became popular, has said the SAME THINGS
that you people say today! So you spend your time
knocking the previous generations of Christians,
without admitting it, since if they said the same things,
then they must have been wrong. Not only this, but
isn't it interesting how they said that the names of
the countries and leaders of their generation were
the countries and leaders prophesied by Daniel.
Amazing, isn't it?! So your claim is that generations
of Christians were wrong and "didn't have the
Holy Spirit". And before you say that this is not what
you're saying, bear in mind, that the Holy Spirit does
not lead people to incorrect conclusions. So you can
either say that they were lead by the Holy Spirit and
were correct, or you can say that they were not lead
by the Holy Spirit and were wrong.
Oh and btw, if you try to claim that they could have
had the Holy Spirit and were just not always listening
to the Holy Spirit, because as humans, we do make
mistakes, or some such speech like that, then bear
in mind, that this leaves you in the same position
as they were and means that you're just as wrong
as they are.
It also means that you would be saying that the
Holy Spirit is not guiding your understanding of
the Scriptures.
But this is what happens, when you don't simply believe
what was said and try to twist it into being all about you,
which is vanity. And vanity does not make for a good
companion when reading the Bible. ):

The generation of Mt. 24:34 could be the temporal
generation that sees the rebudding of the fig tree
in Mt. 24:32-33. This could represent the re-
establishment of the nation of Israel in 1947 by
UN commandment, for Israel is compared to a fig tree
in Hos. 9:10. If the generation that saw Israel
re-established won't "pass away" until the
tribulation and 2nd coming have happened (Mt.
24:34), and a generation usually passes away after
70 years (Ps. 90:10), then everything in Mt. 24
would have to be fulfilled by 2016.
Azaliah said: Nowhere does the Bible say one word
about a "modern Roman Empire"
The vision of Dan. 2:32-33 refers to a succession of
empires from the time of Nebuchadnezzar until the
coming of Christ in victory. Babylon was the head of
gold, the Medo-Persian empire the breast and arms of
silver, the Greek empire the belly and thighs of
brass, and the Roman empire the legs of iron. But
then there's another empire which hasn't yet been,
and that's the feet, which are part of iron and part
of clay (Dan. 2:33). We know this empire hasn't
happened yet because it will be physically destroyed
by the 2nd coming when Jesus' kingdom will fill the
whole earth (Dan. 2:34-35, cf. Rev. 19:19-20:6).
So what could the feet represent? We know they will
be descended from the Roman empire, just as the feet
are descended from the legs, and that they will be
divided into two main parts, just as the two feet
are divided. One foot could represent the Western
European part of the empire, while the other foot
represents the Middle Eastern and North African part
of the empire. The iron could represent the
Europeans while the clay represents the Arabs and
Turks. Dan. 2:43 could represent how the Turks have
tried to mix with the Germans, and how the Algerians
and Tunisians have tried to mix with the French, but
they still remain unmixed, separated into immigrant
ghettoes in the major cities of Germany and France.
Dan. 2:42,44 refers to the 10 toes and calls them
"kings". This could refer to the 10 main nations of
end-time Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa,
e.g. Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Spain; Turkey,
Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Libya. These could all come
together into a political union, along with the
lesser nations around them. And while such a union
probably wouldn't call itself "the Roman empire", it
will in fact be its descendant as it will encompass
its former territory, employ its alphabet, calendar,
and architecture, and revive its spirit of a
peaceful unification of that large region.
Azaliah said: The word "AntiChrist" is not found
anywhere in Daniel
That doesn't matter, for just as we know that the
iron legs in Dan. 2:33 were the Roman empire even
though the phrase "Roman empire" isn't found there,
so we know that the man of Dan. 7:8 is the
Antichrist even though the word "Antichrist" isn't
found there.
In Dan. 7:4-7, Daniel has a vision of the same
empires found in Dan. 2:32-33. The lion is Babylon,
the bear is Medo-Persia, the leopard is Greece,
and the 4th beast is the Roman empire. Also, just as
earlier we had 10 end-time kings arising as 10 toes
from the region of the former Roman empire, now we
have 10 end-time kings arising as 10 horns from the
region of the former Roman empire (Dan. 7:7).
The Antichrist is "the little horn" of Dan. 7:8,
who will begin his career on the world scene by
first taking control of 3 of the 10 nations of the
end-time Roman empire. He has to be "diverse" from
the 10 (Dan. 7:24), e.g. he could come out of a
lesser nation like Lebanon. He could take over an
Arab Baathist confederation of Iraq, Syria, and
Egypt put together by a Baathist general before him.
Ultimately, he will gain control of the entire world
(Rev. 13:5-10, Dan. 7:25).

The only "Christianity" allowed could be one which

The U.S. will probably decide in the next year or
two that it can no longer afford to dilly-dally with
any religious parties in Iraq, as they're just too
unstable and seem to be innately anti-Western. The
U.S. could turn back to supporting Baathism, which
is basically a secular party and innately anti-
Iranian, for the raison d'etre of Baathism is to
bring about an "Arab Renaissance", and that means no
Persians at the party. The U.S. could find a
suitable Baathist general to finally take control of
Iraq and begin its military buildup against Iran.

Believers in "Jesus" Christ. The day is coming when
"all nations" (Mt. 24:9) will hate Jesus-Christians
for preaching what Jesus preached (e.g. Lk. 13:3,
Mk. 9:43-48). But the nations won't have any problem
with all the coming false "Christs" (Mt. 24:5) who
will never mention things like "sin" or "judgment",

The "generation" of Jesus isn't the wicked, but

generation of the elect (1 Pet. 2:9) which will not

Flowerchild8245 said: [Quoted Jn. 3:19]
Jn. 3:19 isn't the condemnation of any temporal

all times, as opposed to the generation of "the
children of light" of all times (Lk. 16:8, Jn.

Flowerchild8245 said: [Quoted Lk. 21:22]
Lk. 21:22 can't be referring to the defeat of

and final defeat of Jerusalem (Zech. 14:2, Dan.

The image of Dan. 2:32-33 has 5 separate parts, not
just four, insofar as the feet are distinct from the
legs as they are iron mixed with clay, whereas the
legs are just iron.
-Four of the five empires have existed, proving that
even symbolic prophecy can involve real, physical
fulfillment on the earth; it will be no different
with the physical fulfillment of Mt. 24 and Rev.
chapters 6-22, most of which doesn't even have to
be symbolic, and Zech. 14, none of which has to be
symbolic.
Jesus doesn't return until the empire of iron and
clay exists, and He physically obliterates it from
the earth and replaces it with His own physical
kingdom on the earth (Dan. 2:34-35, cf. Rev.
19:19-20:6, 5:10, 2:26-29, Zech. 14:9-21; Is. 2:4).
This in no way happened in 70 AD, for even the iron
legs of the original Roman empire continued to exist
for centuries afterward.
Rev. 17:10-14 means that the Roman empire was the
empire that was in the time of John, and that it
would be followed by another empire, possibly the
Ottoman empire, or possibly what could be called the
empire of Islam, which would then be followed by yet
another, final empire ruled by the Antichrist, who,
with 10 "kings" which didn't exist in John's time,
would attempt to make war against Jesus at His
return. These 10 "kings" are none other than the 10
toes of the empire of the feet of iron and clay
(Dan. 2:42,44), and the 10 horns which "shall arise"
"out of" the former Roman empire (Dan. 7:24). The
Antichrist has to be "diverse" from these 10 kings
and begin his world career by taking over 3 of them
(Dan. 7:24b). None of these things happened in 70
AD; indeed they've never been fulfilled down until
this day.

"oldwetdog" <gaedhealic@yahoo.com> shouted thusly:
The Affliction described by Jesus in Mat 24 9-13 IS about this
generation.
Where does the Bible say that?
Luke recorded the warning about the Affliction of the First Century
Christians.
Luke 21:12-23.
You know nothing of the Scriptures, nor of the people who
wrote it. Luke was an educated man and was not Jewish.
And that means that he would been more likely to write
in chronological order, wherever possible. Thus, when
he recorded Jesus' discourse on the last days, he would
have been more likely to record Jesus' sayings in order.
And Luke 21:20-21 says clearly, that when Jerusalem was
surrounded and desolated, that "all things written" would
"be fulfilled". That was it; the end. Nowhere does the
Bible speak of "the end of time". That is a construct of
the modern church, built on the imagination of men,
of which you are part. All of Luke has been fulfilled.
The prophecy in Luke 212:24 has been fulfilled.
The Nations which once were Rome are becoming Rome Again.
This Affliction is next -- and it is soon.
Nowhere did Jesus say one word about "Rome becoming
Rome again". In fact, nowhere in the entire Bible is this
found.
THE AFFLICTION
When modern Rome rises to power, that event will include the use of
nuclear weapons, and will begin the Affliction of God's People. Mat
24:9-14. This is the first half of Daniel's 70th week. Dan 9:27.
Look at the subject line of this thread that you started.
Jesus said this to His disciples, who were standing right
in front of Him. Now why is it that you claim that this
wasn't about them and that it's all about you, considering
that they were "afflicted and killed"? Can you point us
to the verse that says, "But I don't mean you guys.
When you are afflicted and get killed, it doesn't matter.
You don't count, because it's all about Glenn. I, Jesus,
made sure to come in the 1st century, because I wanted
to ignore you guys and talk to people in the 21st century.
This was much more logical than coming in the 21st
century, to talk to people in the 21st century. So just
write my words down, but don't think they apply to you.".
This is your imagination, nothing more. Unless of course,
you can show us where the Bible says, "nuclear weapons".
This is your imagination running wild. In fact, you should
have your own video, called "Glenn Gone Wild". You can
film it in a tent, at a remote location, so that the commies
with the nuclear weapons can't find you. :)
According to you, if it is not stated in the Bible, then it
isn't in the Bible. So where are nuclear weapons stated
in the Bible.
You made a big deal out of this issue and claimed that
those who cannot "underline" their exact words in the
Bible, are false teachers and that they are admitting
that what they claimed is in the Bible, cannot be found
in the Bible and that they are making it up.
So now you get to tell us, why the very same rule that
you made up, does not apply to you.

Subject: Bud & Lou
You have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old
to REALLY understand computers, to fully appreciate this. For those of
us who sometimes get flustered by our computers, please read on...
If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch,
"Who's on First?" might have turned out something like this:
COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT
ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?
COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking
about buying a computer.
ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou.
ABBOTT: Your computer?
COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one.
ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou.
ABBOTT: What about Windows?
COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?
ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?
COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows?
ABBOTT: Wallpaper.
COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.
ABBOTT: Software for Windows?
COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write
proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have?
A BBOTT: Office.
COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?
ABBOTT: I just did.
COSTELLO: You just did what?
ABBOTT: Recommend something.
COSTELLO: You recommended something?
ABBOTT: Yes.
COSTELLO: For my office?
ABBOTT: Yes.
COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?
ABBOTT: Office.
COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!
ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.
COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let's just say I'm
sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?
ABBOTT: Word.
COSTELLO: What word?
ABBOTT: Word in Office.
COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.
ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.
COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?
ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W".
COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start with some
straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I
can track my money with?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?
ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.
COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?
ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.
COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?
ABBOTT: One copy.
COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money?
ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.
COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?
ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!
(A few days later)
ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?
COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?
ABBOTT: Click on "START"....

2 Pastors from local churches are standing off the road, pounding a sign
into the ground, that reads:
The End is Near! Turn Yourself Around Now, Before it's Too Late!
As a car sped past them, the driver yelled, "Leave us alone, you religious
nuts!"
From the curve they heard screeching tires and a big splash. The first
pastor turns to the other pastor and asks, "Do you think the sign should
just say 'Bridge Out'?"

"Talk about 2 preachers "getting preachy" with a very simple
message!""
It's a joke, but the idea behind it is profound.
If more preachers 'kept it simple", the simple Gospel "God loves you"
would be so much easier for so many to grasp.
God bless, and "Thanks for the chuckle!"

Where did you get this gem?
and, can I use it in one of my books? (seriously)
I'm collecting stories and HUMOR about computers.
For those who remember the "Good ole DOS days"
One of my all-time favorite computer CARTOONS is the cartoon that
shows a high-rise office building. It's so high, a bird is cruising by
about 10 stories from the top.
(this one was popular before there were "mice" )
You see a computer monitor, a keyboard, and a computer "box" in
mid-air, with the "action/motion" streaks indicating it has recently
emerged from the smashed window to the right, from the high-rise.
Someone has evidently just tossed his entire computer out the 180th
floor of an office tower.
The caption is,
"Ok, computer... &*)&&&) !@#$ !#%^% !!
Now, you just tell me ONE MORE TIME,
that I have a
"Syntax error."
I've seen a lot of computer humor, but that one, from the long-gone
days of endlessly typing long commands at "DOS prompts"
that one is my own "King of Computer Humor".
I've had days where I typed the exact same command 10 times and got an
equal # of "syntax error" responses.
My boss would walk over and say, "here, let me show you.
type type type type type type. "Like that".
"Syntax Error."
Then he'd growl and say "Reboot the &(*&)(*& &*(&*(7 thing!"
That's where I learned the technique of
"Reboot the &*(& &(*&* computer !!"
--
My 2nd favorite all time computer cartoon would have to be where Jimmy
is in the living room playing with a computer game on the TV
(evidently an Atari or Play Station)
Mom comes in and asks 10-year old Jimmy
"sweetheart, would you PLEASE take a break from the computer game and
go help your dad figure out the computer?"
I LOVE that. No matter how much I've learned in 35 years about
computers, my son STILL manages to show me a better way to do
something.
God bless!

An email forwarded to me. I have no idea who wrote it. It sure wasn't me,
I'm not that talented. I'm sure whoever did write it attached their name to

So, using it an a book? Call a copyright lawyer. If the author were to find
