these ignorant crowds, but what do they know about it? |
The Pharisees were talking about Jesus in the following Passage:
John 7:
45 The Temple guards who had been sent to arrest him returned to the leading
priests and Pharisees. "Why didn't you bring him in?" they demanded.
46 "We have never heard anyone talk like this!" the guards responded.
47 "Have you been led astray, too?" the Pharisees mocked.
48 "Is there a single one of us rulers or Pharisees who believes in him?
49 These ignorant crowds do, but what do they know about it? A curse on them
anyway!"
If as you read the above, you related to this Scripture...either the way you
have acted or others you know have acted...then may He continue to speak to
your heart and mine, leading and guiding us to His truth. Open our eyes
that we may see. Interesting how the Pharisees referred to the "ignorant
crowd". How God does use the simple of the world to shame those who think
they are wise in their own eyes, huh?
Life Application Study Bible excerpt:
7:45-49 The Jewish leaders saw themselves as an elite group that alone had
the truth, and they resisted the truth about Christ because it wasn't
"theirs" to begin with. It is easy to think that we have the truth and that
those who disagree with us do not have any truth at all. But God's truth is
available to everyone. Don't copy the Pharisees' self-centered and narrow
attitude.
Living and learning and growing in Him,
Have a great day!
