Those Who Believe |
Since false religion and unbelief is so rampant on usenet, I thought it
would be wise to create a thread for those that believe in the biblical
doctrine of salvation. This isn't necessarily meant to divide, but to bind
those that are saved.
This list includes people who affirm the biblical doctrine of salvation and
the person of Christ as revealed in the scriptures. This list excludes that
reject the trinity, reject the gospel, and those that cannot or will not
admit what they believe.
If you do affirm the biblical gospel (and I have a simple example of it on
my site at http://gospel.jcsm.org), then please add your name to this list.
We need to stick together and have Christian fellowship with like-minded,
saved believers.

Note: This thread isn't to debate. It isn't to chat with unbelievers. It's
to bind those that have similar beliefs and provide a place for fellowship.
God bless,
Jason

I think this is an excellent idea. You can get a big long list,
assign everyone a number and put it on a web page. Then, when no
atheist bothers to steal your list, you can rant and rave about
how evil we are because the only reason we didn't do so is to
make you look like a hypocrite.

Actually like anyone else they generally only do so when the nore
misguided phoney Christians seek to overthrow democracy in favor of a
lunatic theocratic tyranny
Which is how they are behaving right now
If Christians put their own house in order no-one would bother them but
that means getting rid of the neo nazis and other looneys who appear to be

The free.* charter
From the original hierarchy announcement:
free.* is a hierarchy where anything is allowed, and nothing is
forbidden. Period. There will be no cancels here, no rmgroups, no
supersedes, and no central control. If somebody wants a group, they can
create it. If somebody wants to post something, they can post it. If
somebody wants to forge something, they can forge it. If somebody wants
to do something, they can do it - as long as it doesn't involve the
destruction of somebody else's words.
There will be no spam cancels in free.*, no binary cancels, no
forgery cancels, no spew cancels, no cancels period. Administrators are
encourged to not filter the newsgroups in any way, including server-based

That's it? Only five of you????
That's not the way we want it, but if you won't believe, we cannot,
unfortunately, make you.
There maybe more, lurking.
Or rather, most of us know better that to entertain ourselves here
in
Usenet.
With the power of God in and around us, five is plenty.
Rest assured, the amount of Christians in the world outnumbers
unbelievers
in a gigantic way. Only about 9 or 10% is atheist. Unfortunately,
usenet
may not reflect this.
How convenient you claim "all" Christians to be on your side
when in fact most Christians you brand as heretics. You
speak like a snake selecting the stats that best fit your case.
So let me get this clear, is Bible Bob and Christian?
At any rate, this thread is for like-minded Christians. It wasn't
posted in
alt.atheism. Therefore, we'd appreciate it if you left.
Interesting you should say this. I have always posted from
free.christians, never from alt.atheism. i am your target
audience yet you try to drive me free Christians. Where is
your logic? Are you preaching to the lost souls or the choir?
By the way I'll post where I please, especially if you keep
posting your enlightening remarks.

Administrators are
encourged to not filter the newsgroups in any way, including server-based
filters and NoCeM. Administrators are also encourged to not honor cancel
messages crossposted to the hierarchy.
These rules will be enforced by anybody that cares to enforce
them. Considering the type of rules, this enforcement will most likely
take the form of educating people on just what free.* is about.
Above all, free.* is about free speech without authority. Enjoy
it or ignore it. It's your choice.

Not with your definition of Christianity.
It is a minor sect in the larger group dominated by Catholics.
As for the 10 percent, I'd suggesdt you look at Russia and China.
Left where? You invited me here and I have no intention on going.

Your standards seem to be those of convenience, Jason. The fact is that,
yes, while Christianity is a major religion in the world, your own flavor
of it, if you will, is a minority even within that group. I guess that
means I'm curious about how you define "gigantic."
But what's even more curious is that you juxtapose the number of
Christians versus the number of atheists, and yes, atheism is a minority
opinion in the world. Christianity was, also, at one time. But even as
that is so, you seem to want to ally yourself with groups
you would otherwise exempt--your list, for example--as a
matter of convenience.
Unfortunately, usenet may not reflect this.
Why is that unfortunate? Should there be any venues from which atheists
should be excluded? Or would you propose that atheist postings in Usenet
be limited to their proportion of the population?
At any rate, this thread is for like-minded Christians. It wasn't

This thread was posted in a Usenet newsgroup--several of them, in
fact--and, as such, is open to discussion and response by anyone.

I believe you are a unitarian, if I remember correctly, and why you do call
yourself saved so do Mormons. No Jason has every right in the world to ask
people if they are evangelical Christians in a fundamentally excepted

But he asked for a list of saved believers. I wonder if the heresy of not

other ways the man is a Christian?
And yes I am very much a Christian, if my reading of Jason's statement of

Wesley,
I am not a unitarian or a triniatarian. God knows whether I am saved
doesn't He and He is the one I have to convince isn't He. What are
you referring to with regard to the Mormons; I sure ain't one and
never have been. Why can't Mormons be saved? Isn't Jesus big enough
to save Mormons, too. Do you have a passage in mind that says that
Jesus can not save Mormons or anyone that is trinitarian or unitarian.
My Lord can save anybody who is saveable which inlcudes Hindus and
Muslems and atheists. Jason's god is unable to save but those that
Jason gives him permission to save.
What gives Jason the right? What passage in the scripture speaks of
evangelical fundamentalist chirstians? And what does fundamentaly
excepted definition of a word have to do with anything if the
fundamentally excerpted defenition of the word contradicts scripture?
First of all you need to know what "heresy" means. A Heretik is a
schismatic, one who causes division like Jason and the trinity do.
The devilish doctrine of the trinity didn't even come to be until
after the Apostles were gone. There is no biblical evidence that a
trinity even exists. It is merely a way for control freaks to
exercise control over others. The Word of God says that to be saved:
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
I did that a long time ago and either I am saved or God is a liar.
Jason loves to call everyone a liar, especially God because it makes
him feel like a big shot. My God (and I am using the name with
purpose - not in vain) man, open your eyes can't you see that all
Jason does he does for his glory and his pocketbook. DO you think his
prayer's that turn atheists away from God are scriptural. If so read
Matthew 6 and you will see Jason as the Pharasee that he is.
There is only ONE WAY to be a Christian and that is to confess Jesus
as Lord. All of the man made doctrines and religious ceremony can not
change what Christ did.
I assume you are talking about when Christ gathers together the church
of the body. I'll be there, but I doubt we want to discuss Jason's
evil behavior in the face of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the
creepers creeping on the earth.
To answer your last question first, what follows is from a section of
my book The Finger of God - Figures of Speech Used in the Bible.
What is the image and likeness of God? God said “Let us make man in
our image, after our likeness.” And God is saying what He said in
figurative words. The plural pronouns used of humans. So once again
we have the figure Anthropopatheia in play to ascribe to God what
belongs to man. In this case it is “person” because “us” and “our”
are the plural forms of “me” and “my” in the objective and possessive
cases. So what would be the image and likness of God in human form?
First of all “in our image, after our likeness” is marked by another
figure called Hendiadys (Two for One); Two words used but one thing
meant so that it means “in the likeness of my image.” Remember,
figures are used solely for the sake of emphasis and are used to slow
us down so that we stop and consider what is being said. God spirit,
God is love, and God is holy. What is the image of God? God is
invisible and has no image because an image is something that you can
see. Image refers to the outward form, but God has no outward form or
any form at all for that matter. So the only way that man could be
like God would be in the areas of sprit, love, and holy which includes
knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. In other words God wanted man
to be a smart cookie, a take charge kind of guy because the next words
out of God’s figirative mouth are “and let them have dominion over”
the animals.
You can read more at http://www.biblebob.net/Genesis/Genesis%201.htm
I witnessed to a couple Mormons and they joined our church and were
saved. A real nice young couple. They never indicated beliefs such
as those you mentioned.
If you stop and think about the average church goer doesn't know all
of the doctrines that their church teaches. Most church goers are not
up on doctrines such as the trinity. They can not document their
beliefs from scripture. Sadly, those same Christians do not know the
scriptures to lead a person to Christ. From my experience, must
church going "Chistians" do not meet the Biblical criteria of a
"Christian" which is discipleship. There are many saved people that
are not disciples. A guy that gets saved today is not a disciple
today because a disciple is a follower of the teachings and his
teachings and it takes time to devlope that discipline.
I have spent years studying the Bible (and the trinity). I do not
know the whole Bible, but aim me towards the early chapters of Genesis
or the New Testament and I'll give anybody a run for their money. I
know the Word because I study the Word; not books about the Word. My
study tools are the Bible, the Hebrew and Greek Texts, Concordances,
Lexicons, Greek Grammar books, etc. I have many commentaries but
rarely use them. With regard to the trinity, if it were "the thing"
to believe, God would have made the doctrine crystal clear. It was
invented by men and is therefore not accurate.
It appears to me that you and Jason are posting through the same ISP.
IS that true? Are youn in San Diego?

Since false religion and unbelief is so rampant on usenet, I
thought it would be wise to create a thread for those that
believe in the biblical doctrine of salvation. This isn't
necessarily meant to divide, but to bind those that are saved.
This list includes people who affirm the biblical doctrine of
salvation and the person of Christ as revealed in the
scriptures. This list excludes that reject the trinity, reject
the gospel, and those that cannot or will not admit what they
believe.
If you do affirm the biblical gospel (and I have a simple
example of it on my site at http://gospel.jcsm.org), then
please add your name to this list. We need to stick together
and have Christian fellowship with like-minded, saved believers.

That's it? Only five of you????
My feelings are so hurt. My little heart is so broken and the
tears flowing down my face are shorting out my keyboard. It sure
is a good thing that Jason is not God. I made God's list.
BB
I believe you are a unitarian, if I remember correctly, and why you
do call yourself saved so do Mormons. No Jason has every right in
the world to ask people if they are evangelical Christians in a
fundamentally excepted definition of the word.
But he asked for a list of saved believers. I wonder if the heresy
of not believing in the trinity is enough of a heresy to not be
saved, if in all other ways the man is a Christian?
And yes I am very much a Christian, if my reading of Jason's
statement of faith is correct he and I can talk about this in
person when we both are in a position to know the answer to my
question. Hopefully you will be there as well.
Wesley,
I am not a unitarian or a triniatarian. God knows whether I am
saved doesn't He and He is the one I have to convince isn't He.
What are you referring to with regard to the Mormons; I sure ain't
one and never have been. Why can't Mormons be saved? Isn't Jesus
big enough to save Mormons, too. Do you have a passage in mind
that says that Jesus can not save Mormons or anyone that is
trinitarian or unitarian.
My Lord can save anybody who is saveable which inlcudes Hindus and
Muslems and atheists. Jason's god is unable to save but those that
Jason gives him permission to save.
What gives Jason the right? What passage in the scripture speaks of
evangelical fundamentalist chirstians? And what does fundamentaly
excepted definition of a word have to do with anything if the
fundamentally excerpted defenition of the word contradicts
scripture?
First of all you need to know what "heresy" means. A Heretik is a
schismatic, one who causes division like Jason and the trinity do.
The devilish doctrine of the trinity didn't even come to be until
after the Apostles were gone. There is no biblical evidence that a
trinity even exists. It is merely a way for control freaks to
exercise control over others. The Word of God says that to be
saved:
DO you think
his prayer's that turn atheists away from God are scriptural. If
so read Matthew 6 and you will see Jason as the Pharasee that he is.
There is only ONE WAY to be a Christian and that is to confess Jesus
as Lord. All of the man made doctrines and religious ceremony can
not change what Christ did.
I assume you are talking about when Christ gathers together the
church of the body. I'll be there, but I doubt we want to discuss
Jason's evil behavior in the face of our Lord Jesus Christ.
BB
They believe in many Gods, that Jesus and Satan are brothers, and
both were Gods. They believe they will become gods someday. They
believe that there is no heaven as we now it and no hell. When you
die you will be sent to school to learn your errors and given second
chance to repent of them. So what you do now is actually irrelevant
you will get another chance at it.
2Pe 2:1 But there were also prophets among the people, even as
there will be among you, who secretly will bring in destructive
heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing on
themselves swift destruction.
God can save anyone and I am not here to tell you I know who is
damned. But I can tell you being a false teacher is a good way to
find himself in hell.
I can't judge you, I have much too little information. It seems you
may hold some unorthodox beliefs, whether those beliefs are to the
point of heresy I don't know yet. But I read that you deny the deity
of Jesus is that true? The holy sprit is not God? and who is God
talking about when he says "Us".
(Gen 1:26) And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our
likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth.
To answer your last question first, what follows is from a section of
my book The Finger of God - Figures of Speech Used in the Bible.
What is the image and likeness of God? God said "Let us make man in
our image, after our likeness." And God is saying what He said in
figurative words. The plural pronouns used of humans. So once again
we have the figure Anthropopatheia in play to ascribe to God what
belongs to man. In this case it is "person" because "us" and "our"
are the plural forms of "me" and "my" in the objective and possessive
cases. So what would be the image and likness of God in human form?
First of all "in our image, after our likeness" is marked by another
figure called Hendiadys (Two for One); Two words used but one thing
meant so that it means "in the likeness of my image." Remember,
figures are used solely for the sake of emphasis and are used to slow
us down so that we stop and consider what is being said. God spirit,
God is love, and God is holy.
In other words God wanted man
to be a smart cookie, a take charge kind of guy because the next words
out of God's figirative mouth are "and let them have dominion over"
the animals.

BB
No if I remember correctly your newsreader shows full headers when you want
it to. As you can see I use Super News. No you can not see my ISP, but it's
a Washington State provider. Jason Uses Road Runner, as do you. If you are
worried about it I will send a post by Google so you can see my IP. Ask if
you want me to.
You really didn't make a conclusive case as to the use of the plural in Gods
self-description, but then no rigid doctrine should come from only one verse
in the Bible. I agree with you that many people have no idea about their own
faiths theology. For that reason I do not throw all I know about the Morman
faith at it followers all at once. It tends to insult them and makes them
throw up their defenses. My stepfather was a former Bishop with the Later
Day Saints so do know what I'm talking about. I read the Book of Mormon, did
the whole pray over it thing as a kid. I found that book so foolish I couldn't
believe it. And the poor imitation of 1600 English was more than I should
stand. But in my arguments with my family I was able to go over the entire
faith. Its a pragmatic faith so much has changed over the last 30.
We should go over your anti trinity beliefs on another thread. But we should
do it one small piece of scripture at a time. It may take a while but
document dumps just don't work when trying to have a discussion on Usenet.
And maybe we all should stop insulting each other. You consider yourself to
be a Christian, so you must realize that our faith has many enemies. We
should not join with them and help them in our disagreements with each
other.
I will look your page over.

Wesley,
I'm a Mormon, and I study Mormon beliefs. From what I've read on this
thread about Mormonism it sounds as if some of your idea's about what
they believe are flawed. If you want to carry a conversation on with
me about what Mormons do and do not believe then I think a good place
to start would be making a list of all the doctrines that you say are
herecy taught by the mormon church, and then we'll see which of those
are truely doctrines taught by the church and which ones are not.

Hi Craig,
I'm not sure how you found this thread or why you joined, but welcome to
free.christians, nonetheless.
I've studied Mormonism. Would you mind if I joined the conversation?
Perhaps we can start a new thread and cross-post to your favorite, Mormon
newsgroup.

I would like to ask a question of our Mormon visitor.
In 1 Nephi 10, it says: "the ways of the Lord are one eternal round":
How does this cyclical view of history shown in the putative Book of Mormon
square with the linear view of world history presented in the Hebrew and
Greek scriptures?

I would be glad to talk to you. But first let me apologize for my rash
words. As I said earlier I am very uncomfortable attacking your faith in
such a harsh way. Some of what I said was my opinion of some of your
churches doctrines so I can not labile them as a mutually accepted fact.
Feel free to go over what I said and set me strait.
We should start a new thread for this, I am following the free.chirstians
news group so please include that group in your response and a cross post to
a pro LDS news group would fine if you would like. Again I will make every
effort not to needlessly insult you or your faith again
