At one point in the past it seemed that you had taken BJ under your
wing and were trying to help him.

I tried both.

Something you may not understand is that I am probably / HIGHLY LIKELY
not the person to shepherd BJ.

One chooses for one's self who one will follow. I am not on BJ's
list. That is entirely scriptural.

Nor am I suited to be there for him when he will accept it, and let
him run loose and be the bull in the china shop when he feels like it.

We each have our strengths and our weaknesses. I will allow you to
understand yours and respect them if you will allow me the same.

Then the two of you got into some

tits and tats over this and that - and yes his betrayal of personal
information was absolutely wrong.

Nor has he given that issue its due. I got a very flip, "Sorry" over
his shoulder and a "get over it." And the times I have mentioned that
I really expect better than that, I got a middle finger a dozen times.

I don't expect you to understand. I am not sure I do. I am VERY sure
that BJ doesn't "get it."

Yet I continue to ATTEMPT, as the occasion arises, to gently guide BJ
along. You may not notice. But I try.

Still, undersheparding is a time consuming process that takes much
patience and as his elder in both years and experience you should know
that he will not learn or change quickly when bogged down with all the
mental garbage that he is carrying.

Despite what you think,

Kindly don't pretend to know what I think.

I admonish and reprove BJ because I want him

to succeed and because he has demonstrated that he responds better to
reproof than encouragement. JB is a man child that needs to be
treated like a man and that is the way I treat him.

But, you are in a better position than I to help him because you and
he do share some similar beliefs and because he does come to you when
he gets in trouble.

Despite what some seem to think, JB does have potential. I have seen
him repeat what others have shared many times. So he is learning bits
and pieces here and there. If only five percent of what you share
with gets through; he is five percent better off than he was before
and maybe someday those five percents will fit together for him.

Don't give up on him.
