to the wicked God says: "What right have you to declare My statutes " ? Ps. 50:16 |
" Or take My covenant in your mouth,
17 Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you?
18 When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a
partaker with adulterers.
19 You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own
mother's son.
21 These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I
was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order
before your eyes. " Ps. 50:16-21
in their pomp the reprobate wag their heads as they stick out their
tongue as they fight the losing battle of rebellion against God.
they fight a war of words.
words are their only resource... there is no power in the words of
darkness to change things for the better... neither in the speaker nor
in the listener.
it is not given, as these passages evidence, to the reprobate to even
understand the things of God... these are referred to as ' swine ' and
' dogs ' by Jesus when He says to His elect... " Do not give what is
holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine " Mt. 7:6
this is the " rebuke " of Ps. 50:21.
the wicked have no right from God to declare His statutes. expect
that only the jibberish of Satan spews from their mouths as they
speak, for no truth is to be found in them... they are of the same
nature as their father, the devil. Joh. 8:44
it is peculiar nonsense when the non-elect attempt to overthrow the
Lord God by using His Word against Him. here is a liar trying to use
truth as a weapon. here is darkness explaining Light. here are those
born dead explaining Life.
