TRADITIONS OF MEN |
TRADITIONS OF MEN
Mat 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also
transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
*To show that though they began with the Law of Moses, they had
distorted it into traditions which opposed the Law.
Mat 15:8-9
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth
me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. "But in vain
they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
*To show that what men in power issued as commands, in time
became doctrine which, with the force of law, opposed God.
1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,
but in the power of God.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness:
*To show that it is what is written as being from God which is
the basis of Christian doctrine and instruction.
Tit 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of
men, that turn from the truth.
*Directly from Jesus (Mat 15:3)
2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the
traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our
epistle.
*To show that it is the traditions handed down from Jesus through
His Disciples -- not traditions which came after -- which are the
foundation of Christian Doctrine and instruction.
It is amazing, that some man would now claim to know why, for
which doctrine and traditions, the early Christians were martyred.
We can make a "ball park guestimate" that the majority of them
died because they refused to worship the emperor-god of Rome.
There are enough letters and comments in records to offer this as
a cause for the majority, but that is no means absolute proof
that every one of them died for the same reason. But for the sake
of discussion, let us agree that the majority were murdered
because they refused to worship the pagan god of Rome.
But for a man, now, to claim that the martyrs of the first 3
centuries died to defend the doctrine of the modern church is
pure fantasy in the least -- if not heresy.
There is no documentation from the first three hundred years
which give proof of their doctrine – other than they were
“Christian.” Let some man produce a letter stating that some man
believed or taught one doctrine or another; that is not proof
that ALL Christians in a single city, let alone ALL Christians
everywhere, believed that same doctrine.
But what of the years after AD 325? What do the records tell us?
Let the scholars debate the details: but according to many
sources there were purges of one kind or another for centuries.
One of the better known (what a sad term) was the long running
battle over a definition of Christ, deity and God, which led to
the doctrine of the triune god.
There were others.
But even after the major doctrine was under the control of the
pagan god of Rome, still millions of Christians were murdered –
martyred for their faith. These 'purges' and the murder of those
who would not bow to the pagan god of Rome continued into the
depth of the Dark Ages, between 800 and 900 according to some
sources.
The cause of the majority was that the “emperor-god” of Rome, now
in the person of the Pope of the Roman Church, demanded to be
worshiped as “god on earth during the absence of Christ.”
The murder of Christians who rejected the authority of the Pope
of Rome continued into the late 1700s in some places.
Now some man will claim that these martyrs -ALL- died to DEFEND
the doctrine of the triune god, or to REJECT the ‘doctrine of
scripture only” as final authority in all matters of Christian
life and the Church.
This same man claims authority to teach you the traditions of men
as being equal to the word of God.

It will not be long now, Brothers and Sisters in Christ, until
you and I will stand before some man who will demand that we
worship the pagan god of Modern Rome.
Do not fear that man, or the death he can bring you to, for this
death is your doorway into the presence of the Living God.
