Was "Re: A question about Eastern Christians!?!"
My husband was having a conversation about Jesus with a Muslim at work.
This chap is living with a girl but claims she is christian from the east
and that her Bible is the correct one.

My husband said to him, if your girlfriend is a committed christian she
would not be living with you. He zealously denied this was the case, saying
that the Eastern Bible did not teach this. Could she be from an orthodox
background and even if that is the case, I am sure their Bible is not much
different from ours?

Anyone have any thoughts.

Jewelsx,
There may be some differences in various Bible versions around today,
but I would think that most agree that adultery and fornication are
wrong. (I believe even the Koran teaches that, so what is that Muslim
'chap' doing it for?) For example, Col 3:5.
"Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth:
fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which
is idolatry; " (ASV)
Thus no true Christian would be committing continual fornication by
living with someone before marriage, and still an accepted member of
the Christian congregation. (see 1 Cor 5:9-13)
Sincerely, James
