Re: Can we save the atheists on Earth?
Or will they burn in hell for all eternity?
Hello,
Would you take a disobedient child's hand, and hold it on a red-hot
stove burner to punish him? Would you not be considered some kind of
sadist and be arrested? Well, to accuse God of doing even worse things
is not a wise thing to do. The Bible nowhere teaches of a literal
'hellfire' place.
First of all, God is LOVE. 1 Jo 4:8,
"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." (NIV)
When have you ever seen a truly loving person use torture on any
living creature? Maybe nutcases and sadists or pure evil people etc,
but not bona fide loving people. Also, in order for God to have
allegedly created such a place, He would first have to think about it,
right? Well such a concept of burning living humans in a literal fire
never even entered God's mind. Notice that principle stated at Jer
7:31,
"They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben
Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire--something I did
not command, nor did it enter my mind." (NIV)
True the Bible does speak of "fire" is some places that some
misconstrue to be a 'hellfire' place, but are you sure that those
places were not meant to be symbolic? (more Bible details on this if
you are interested)
So to answer your question about the atheists above, no they will not
burn in a literal fire forever, since that is not a Bible doctrine.
Actually, the Bible only shows ONE condition where people will live
forever. In all other cases, it will be non existence. 1 Jo 2:17,
"The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of
God lives forever." (NIV)
Notice that 'living forever' requires the doing of God's will. If that
'hellfire' place existed, those people are still 'living forever',
just not under the best of conditions. But if they are 'living
forever', they must have done " God's will" as the Scripture says. So
obviously, the 'hellfire' doctrine itself, contradicts God's word, the
Holy Bible.
Sincerely, James

You mean to tell me that 90% of Christians are propagating lies?
How can you have a holy religion if it has such a high percentage of lie
propagators in it?

You did notice that the poster is a Jehovah's Witeness? He probably
considers that 90% to be apostate.

Heh, I hadn't actually. I consider all Christian denoms to be pretty much
the same.
They all have one thing in common - they all get their info from one book -
the bible - the great sect generator. The bible is a sect machine.
I like the first statement on that website -
"Religion in general has failed to be a force for unity."
That's got to be the statement of the century!
The next line says -
"Is there a religion that is different?"
Erm, yes AND no?

That has been the teaching of the Church of Rome since at least the
Reformation.

Ironic if you go from Atheist to JW!
